Battery-Battery
Working principle
For the lead-acid battery, the active material of positive pole is lead dioxide and the active material
of negative pole is sponge like metal lead, and the conductive medium is thin sulfuric acid
(electrolyte). Positive and negative will arise the following reaction during battering charging and
discharging process, which will change electric energy into chemical energy which is stored inside
of battery, or change chemical energy into electric energy which supply to outside.
Negative pole reaction discharge
charge
discharge
Positive pole reaction charge
discharge charge
Discharge: concentration of H 2SO 4 is decreased and the PbSO 4 on positive/negative poles is
increase; inside resistance is increased and the concentration of electrolyte is decrease;
electromotive force of battery is decreased.
