controlled combat with an op-
ponent. Unlike Kata, which is a
solo form, Kumite involves re-
al-time interaction, where prac-
titioners apply their techniques
against a live adversary.
It’s a chance to test and refine
techniques while learning to an-
ticipate and react to an oppo-
nent’s movements. Kumite ses-
sions are governed by rules to
ensure safety, but they still pro-
vide a dynamic and challenging
experience.
