Intervention strategies may appear to be straightforward—identify a problem, devise a solution,
and implement it. However, a truly effective intervention strategy must be thoughtfully crafted to
tackle various educational challenges and constantly evaluated and adapted to ensure continued
success.

Intervention strategies are employed for a targeted teaching program in small groups or one-to-
one settings. They are designed to address gaps in students’ learning by focusing on specific areas
of need.
School interventions are crucial for promoting success and well-being and unlocking the full po-

tential of all students. Through tutoring, mentoring, counselling, or specialised programs, inter-
ventions aim to boost academic performance and enhance valuable social and emotional skills.
Large class sizes mean some pupils can only catch up with additional support, which is why the
intervention department is here to provide that support in a small group.
