Memories to Cherish

Memories of your rst attempt at something, memories
of trips, and memories with friends and family are al-
ways precious.

My First Day in Grade 2

2nd May 2022 was the rst day of Grade 2. ough I was in Grade 2, I
still remembered and missed my Grade 1. I felt a bit nervous because
it was the rst day. I was nervous talking to my new Grade 2 teachers.
I know I will feel this only in the beginning. A er two-three weeks I
am sure I will not feel this way. My new teachers are Miss Shilpa, Miss
Susanna, and Miss Apsara.

At the same time, I was happy because I grew a year older. is year I
was excited as I wanted to learn more. I wanted to do new experiments
and learn multiplication. Math has always been my favorite subject!

We did many activities on the rst day. We played a game by passing
the yarn. Our friends passed the yarn of thread and made a web. When
I got the yarn I shared my name and my hobby. en we decorated
our name tags for our trays. We also made a name tag for the bus with
our bus name. I learned new rules and made new friends. During the
lunch break, I played with Arhat, Shreevas, Kejash, and Nirwigna. We
did not know we had PE on the rst day so we were playing in school
uniform and black shoes. It was di erent but fun. My favorite activity
was passing the yarn.

Environment Week

Every June 5th is celebrated as Environment Day. is year World En-
vironment Day 2022 was hosted by Sweden and the theme for 2022
was “Only One Earth”. In our school, we celebrated the whole week as
environment week. During this whole week, we did various activities
like making paper bags, making posters, and doing an experiment to
observe the things that are environmentally friendly and harmful to the
environment. On June 5th we went to school wearing clothes that were
blue, green, or brown. But, I forgot to wear
my green dress, later my didi brought my
dress. en we had an hour-long assembly.
Some grades sang songs, some did presen-
tations. On this day we also did a lot of ac-
tivities like sowing the rice plant, making
paper bags, and distributing them to the
neighborhood. We also encouraged the
shopkeepers of the neighborhood to use
paper or cloth bags. I learned a lot and had
so much fun during the week.
