During Your Stay:
WHAT TO EXPECT
• Your vital signs—
temperature,
blood pressure,
pulse, respiration,
pain level and
oxygen saturation—
will be taken on a regular basis as ordered by your physician, or as needed based on your condition.
• You may be connected to a heart monitor.
• Your  uid intake and urine output may be measured.
• Your weight may be monitored on a daily basis or as needed.
• You may receive no food or drink for a certain amount of time before or after a procedure, depending on that procedure’s requirements.
• You may have blood drawn.
• You will have access to a  nancial counselor to discuss billing.
• You will be able to speak with a
case manager, patient relations representative, your nurses and your physicians if you have any questions or concerns regarding your care.
• You can request to speak with a chaplain, social worker and/or dietitian at any time.
• You may be asked to sign consent forms for certain types of treatment, tests and/or procedures. Each treatment will be explained before you sign the consent form. If you
are unclear about the procedure, inform your nurse and your physician will be noti ed.
• Treatments, tests and procedures are delayed until consent forms are signed.
CHILDREN VISITORS
Children younger than 16 years of age must be accompanied and supervised

by an adult at all times and in all hospital areas, including waiting areas and patient rooms. The supervising adult may not be a patient. Children under the age of 16 visiting the ICU should be limited to 5 to 10 minute visits with a parent or guardian. Children visiting the ICU shall be at the discretion of the healthcare team, the patient, and care partners. Children under the age of 16 may not be left overnight in a patients room. INFECTION CONTROL POLICIES
• To maintain patient con dentiality
and infection control, visitors are requested to remain in the patient’s room or by the bedside while visiting.
• Care partners and/or visitors with active or suspected infections, such as tuberculosis, chickenpox, shingles, measles, mumps, acute respiratory illness, colds,  u, fever, diarrhea, or certain skin infections, may not come to the hospital to visit.
