St. Mary’s Hitching
This variation on the French hitching theme was
found by Brion Toss. He named it after a fine
little church in Anacortes, Washington. The
hitches in the three strands are always
made in the same direction. Care
should be taken to ensure that
they lay neatly in place to
give the spiraling rope
effect.
Do a dummy
run before the
main job so you can
be certain you have
enough line to finish
the job.
