                                                             1 Fold the rope back and stitch through the
                                                                 two pieces of the rope, catching the tail
                                                                 of the twine so it will not pull out.

                                                             2 Pull tight.
                                                             3 Start to wrap tightly round the ropes
                                                                 working back over the stitching.

                                                             4 When half the wrapping has been made,
                                                                 make a stitch through the rope.
                                                             5 Bring the twine round the rope and stitch

                                                                 down through the other piece of rope
                                                                 before carrying on with the wrapping
                                                                 turns.

                                                             6 Bring the twine round and up between
                                                                 the two pieces of rope and then go on to
                                                                 make two trapping turns.
                                                             7 Finish as a seizing (see page 86).
