Life’s better on a beach.
Legend has it, somewhere buried beneath the sands of Lumsden Beach, is Billy
Murin’s treasure. However, on the beaches throughout “The Shore” (Route 320),
it isn’t the buried gems and jewels that make you rich. It’s the treasured memories
that last a lifetime.
Scattered throughout this pristine landscape are beaches that are filled with
just as much history as it is with sand. In rural communities like Lumsden,
Musgrave Harbour, Cape Freels, and Deadman’s Bay, surf, sand, and sun happily
meet for all to enjoy.
Relaxing on the hot sand and swimming in the chilled ocean does the soul
wonders after a day of adventure – both on land and on water. Kayak through
Newtown, known as the Venice of Newfoundland and Labrador. Hook into a cod
fish, or if you’re up for the ultimate challenge, reel in a Porbeagle Shark and pose
for a picture before releasing it back into the Atlantic.
