perennial philosophical question (Glod, 2016). Balancing on the merits of this type of research,
Glod (2016) therefore opined that one of the benefits of interdisciplinary research lies on the
collaboration with and respect for other disciplines.Without looking across the aisle at other
disciplines makes it just difficult to present a thorough and an encompassing account of the result
of such an issue, Ethics without economics can be empty while economics without ethics can be
blind.(4) Inspiration to confront questions that may not otherwise occur to you.An example of
a philosopher arguing against the prevalence of criminal drug laws would appeal to economic
observations to provide evidence for the case (Glod, 2016). Making reference to prohibition laws
can result in the increase of violation of such laws. The increased cost of transportation in a black
market would encourage participants to travel with more potent (and possibly more dangerous)
substances, philosophers arguing against the prevalence of safety regulations draws support from
economics to show how regulations can lead to effects on human behavior; and the seat belt laws
that motivate drivers to be less cautious. (5) Response to the hyper-specialization that is taking
over many academic quarters. It is very necessary not to limit oneself to just the knowledge
base of one’s specialty because knowledge is interwoven and all questions are ultimately
interrelated. The exposure of one’s research to other disciplines pays off in the long run because
it gears your work towards diversity and strengthens both your research argument and
methodological approach as well as expand your analytical results. In almost all the calls for
papers for conference presentations, book chapters and even in a doctoral work, emphasis have
always been on specialized focus. It is not written on a hard rock that a researcher cannot step up
to the bigger picture, or outside the box to make a solid recommendations, a habit that requires
multitude approach resulting to embracing interdisciplinary focus. Researchers should refrain
