and quality effort.
The combination of the identified recommendations would encourage faculty development as
teachers using the best practices in teaching and learning where students are engaged with high level of
involvement in their studies. These recommendations will enhance learning interactions between students
and faculty and would also implement regular, thoughtful, and periodic assessment procedures to provide
ongoing feedback to students about the progress of their learning. To the faculty, these recommendations
when fully implemented will assist in the efficacy of their teaching and assess how well their program is
meeting its objective.
CONCLUSION
This paper reviewed harnessing technology as a Segway to supporting knowledge construction in
the educational industry. In the process of data collection, it looked at how student learning outcomes, the
use of online portal access, smartphone, social networking websites and electronic mails at various
historically black colleges and universities have improved using technology. According to the outcome of
the data analyzed, there is significant evidence that proved best practices in teaching, learning and
training of students using technology lacks full resource support. The research also reviewed social media
teaching modality with a view to ascertain the extent to which development in technology has
significantly resulted in a teaching paradigm shift which may have influenced as well as introduced a
more learner-centered approach to student learning which is revolutionizing the way knowledge is
imparted in today’s institution of learning.
The use of technology to support innovation and lifelong learning for contemporary students has
increased the accessibility and availability of learning content thereby enhancing student learning. The
data analyzed from the sampled population of students over the period of these research has not only
proved that technology plays a significant role in improving student learning but has also supported the
