opportunities for student-student interaction and (x) promote student involvement through engaged time

               and quality effort.

The combination of the identified recommendations would encourage faculty development as

teachers using the best practices in teaching and learning where students are engaged with high level of

involvement in their studies. These recommendations will enhance learning interactions between students

and faculty and would also implement regular, thoughtful, and periodic assessment procedures to provide

ongoing feedback to students about the progress of their learning. To the faculty, these recommendations

when fully implemented will assist in the efficacy of their teaching and assess how well their program is

               meeting its objective.

                                                       CONCLUSION

This paper reviewed harnessing technology as a Segway to supporting knowledge construction in

the educational industry. In the process of data collection, it looked at how student learning outcomes, the

use of online portal access, smartphone, social networking websites and electronic mails at various

historically black colleges and universities have improved using technology. According to the outcome of

the data analyzed, there is significant evidence that proved best practices in teaching, learning and

training of students using technology lacks full resource support. The research also reviewed social media

teaching modality with a view to ascertain the extent to which development in technology has

significantly resulted in a teaching paradigm shift which may have influenced as well as introduced a

more learner-centered approach to student learning which is revolutionizing the way knowledge is

imparted in today’s institution of learning.

The use of technology to support innovation and lifelong learning for contemporary students has

increased the accessibility and availability of learning content thereby enhancing student learning. The

data analyzed from the sampled population of students over the period of these research has not only

proved that technology plays a significant role in improving student learning but has also supported the
