Introduction
                    The Isabela State University is an institution which is highly regarded as a home of excellent
             teaching  and  learning.  It  humbly  takes  pride  to  have  engaged  the  services  of  highly  trained,
             competent, committed and highly motivated faculty. The College of Nursing has set high standards
             and qualifications for faculty hiring to ensure the delivery of quality education in the Bachelor of
             Science in Nursing program. Faculty are also required to finish their Graduate studies as one of the
             bases  for  their  permanency.  Additionally,  faculty  are  encouraged  to  join  trainings,  seminars,
             workshops, research and extension activities.


                I.  Well-Defined Objectives

                        The  objectives  of  the  Faculty  Development  Program  are  in  consonance  with  the
                    Promotion and Merit System of the University. To ensure provision of quality education,
                    faculty members are motivated to become effective in  their functions  and that  they are
                    properly compensated.

                        The specific objectives of the Faculty Development Program are as follows:

                    A.  Implement a system of faculty development for professional advancement of the faculty
                        members for their professional growth by attendance to trainings, seminars and pursue
                        advance studies to sustain academic excellence and quality in instruction

                    B.  Improve continuously the capability and competence of faculty members in instruction,
                        research, extension, and production; and

                    C.  Provide  incentives  to  faculty  members  with  exemplary  performance  in  instruction,
                        research, extension, and production.


                II.     Adequate and Relevant Projects to Achieve Objectives

                             To attain the set objectives for the faculty development, adequate and relevant
                       activities were undertaken. These activities are the following:

                        A. Implementation of Qualification Standard.
                                  The University implements a Qualification Standards (QS) in hiring faculty
                           members. The qualification standards for appointment and other personnel actions
                           for faculty shall be those provided under CSC MC No. 10 s. 2012, the NBC 461
                           Guidelines  and  amended  qualification  standards  (QS)  for  the  faculty  positions
                           approved by the BOR and the CSC with resolution number 1900504 series of 2019
                           and such other issuances that may henceforth be issued.
