Recommendations
1. The University/College may consider hiring a dedicated
Skills Laboratory Technician who will be responsible for
the maintenance of the laboratory. In addition, the College
may assign from among the faculty members a Focal
Person/In-charge of the Skills Laboratory to
direct/supervise its operation.
2. It is highly recommended to institutionalize the guidelines
on the disposal of chemicals and other hazardous
materials in the life sciences laboratories. Coordination
with concerned agencies such as DENR, DOH, and others
is wanting.
3. The University/College shall prioritize the provision of
safety features such as the availability of potable/tap water
and other safety equipment inside the laboratory.
