Woman Dies Trying To Cross N. 40th Street
FedEx Driver Killed In Accident
  A 22-year-old FedEx driver died Tuesday in a traf- fic accident.
Investigators said the truck he was driving had a blowout.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Lazaro Villarreal Santana was driving a 2004 Freight Truck
eastbound on Interstate 4 near U. S. 301, when the left front tire blew out. Santana lost control of the truck and it traveled forward. The truck collided with a 2012 Chevrolet Volt, driven by Ms. Jordan Stynda, 19, of Crystal Beach, Florida.
Her passenger was 17-
year-old Nicole Stynda, also of Crystal Beach. They received minor injuries.
After striking the vehicle, the truck rotated, traveled further, struck a guardrail, and overturned.
Santana died at the scene. No charges are pend- ing in the accident.

City Council Addresses Deaths
During the City Council meeting on Thursday, sev- eral people spoke of the fatal accident on Bayshore Blvd., that claimed the life of a young mother and left her infant daughter critically in- jured.
Councilman Frank Reddick informed them about the death on N. 40th Street. He pointed out that this was the second death at that location in less than a year.
Members of the Trans- portation Department are slated to appear before City Council on June 28th.
Councilwoman Yoli Capin told those in atten- dance at the meeting that Council can only request that changes be made, but they cannot enforce those changes.

The Tampa Police Depart- ment investigated an accident Wednesday that left a young mother dead and her infant daughter critically injured. The accident took place on Bayshore Blvd., at W. Knights Avenue, at approximately 11:43 a.m.
According to police, Ms. Jessica Reisinger, 24, of Jeromesville, Ohio, was push- ing her daughter, 21-month- old Lillia Raubenolt, also of Jeromesville, Ohio, in a stroller. As Ms. Reisinger was attempting to cross the street, she was struck by a 2018 Ford Mustang, driven by 18-year-old Cameron Coyle Herrin, of Tampa. Witnesses told police the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed and racing with another vehicle at the time of the acci- dent. Tristan Herrin, 20, was a passenger in the Ford Mustang.
Ms. Reisinger was transported to Tampa General Hospital, where she died as a result of her injuries. The in- fant was also transported to Tampa General Hospital, where she was admitted in critical condition. Police do not expect her daughter to survive.
Ms. Reisinger was at- tempting to cross a lawful crosswalk at a pedestrian ramp when the accident took place.
Witnesses told police that the Ford Mustang was drag racing with a gold Nissan driven by 17-year-old John Bartrineau, of Brandon. At

in serious bodily injury. Tristan Herrin was charged with racing. He was charged under the Florida statute that says it is illegally to “knowingly ride as a pas- senger in any such race, com- petition, contest, test, or
exhibition.”
Ms. Leila Poole Reid,
63, died at the scene while attempting to cross the busy street. She was on N. 40th Street near Hanlon Avenue when the accident took place.
According to Tampa Po- lice, Ms. Reid was attempt- ing to cross the street when she was struck by a vehicle. Ms. Shanquia Johnson, 23, of Tampa, was the driver of the 2007 Toyota Corolla that struck Ms. Reid.
Ms. Johnson remained at the scene of the accident.
The accident took place near the River Pines Apart- ment Complex. The complex is a senior citizen commu- nity. Police closed N. 40th Street for several hours dur-
