New Miss Teenage Tampa Crowned

Gamma Theta Omega Inc., of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incor- porated, held their 45th annual Miss Teenage Tampa Pageant on Sunday, April 17, 2016. The sold-out event was themed “Pink Sapphires on Parade” and was held at the beautiful David Straz Performing Arts Center.
The program featured ten young ladies from Hillsborough County who displayed amazing talent, graceful poise and remarkable intel- lect. The pageant was hosted by local television news celebrities Rod Carter (News Channel 8) and

Laura Harris (ABC Action News). Florida State Representative, Ed Narain, crowned Miss Tori Bri- ana Brown as the 2016-2017 Miss Teenage Tampa. She is the daughter of Nadalee McLean and a student
at C. Leon King High School. Tori participates in several extracurricu- lar activities including PRIDE Show Choir, Music Honor Society, Pre- cious Pearls and College Reach-Out Program. Tori has maintained a
3.9 GPA and states that she aspires to use her love of music to empower Black youth, spread love, and reach her personal goals in life which in- cludes attending college at New York University.
