ADRIAN WHITE
BY GWEN HAYES Sentinel Editor
When Ms. Bonnie Dukes retired from the School District of Hillsbor- ough County a year ago after 36 years, she did not realize she’d find herself being so busy. But, she’s a “people-per- son, who enjoys meeting and helping people.”
That’s why she has loaned her expertise to a fundraiser entitled, “Top Chef Fried Feast Fundraiser.” The event is planned for Saturday, May 21, 2016,11a. m.-5p.m.atthe Classic Hair Salon, 3431 N. 22nd St. Music will be by Mr. Kold, Jero Green. The Fried Feast will feature fish and

chicken wings along with sides.
Ms. Dukes is a queen contestant for the Woods & Wanton, Inc. Chapter of the Buffalo Soldiers. Funds raised will be used for the organiza- tion’s Scholarship Fund. An- other contestant is Eugenia Drake.
Ms. Dukes is not selfish with the funds that will be raised at this event. She will share with the Medical Fund for Adrian White, who was the recipient of a lung trans- plant in January 2015. The cost of the medication that White currently needs is $3,200 a month. Donations to this cause can be made on his website, www.helphoplelive.
Tampa Police Have No Issue Staffing Security For Beyonce Concert Friday (Tonight)
After a halftime show per- formance during the Super Bowl, Beyonce drew the anger of law enforcement officials around the country who saw her new act and music video, “Formation,” as anti-police.
In Miami, members of the police union voted in February to boycott a concert scheduled for Marlins Park, the location of her worldwide tour kickoff.
A Tampa Police spokesper- son said they can’t say how many officers will provide se- curity for the show, but that there were no issues getting the event staffed by off-duty offi- cers.
The officers are paid $41- per-hour to work events at Raymond James Stadium.
Hillsborough County Sher- iff’s Office spokesperson, Cristal Nunez, said 68 per- sonnel, including deputies, a K- 9 officer and supervisors, will be working the concert.
on Friday, April 29th from 4 p.m. to 11 p. m.
