TAMPA-HILLSBOROUGH EXPRESSWAY AUTHORITY REQUESTS FOR QUALIFICATIONS (RFQ) Miscellaneous Planning & Design Services RFQ No. P-00916
Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority (THEA) in Tampa, Florida is soliciting Request for Qualifications (RFQ) from qualified Respondents interested in providing miscellaneous planning and design services to THEA on an as-needed basis.
A NON-MANDATORY Pre-Proposal Conference will be held May 06, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. in the THEA Board Room on the 1st floor of the Transportation Management Center located at 1104 East Twiggs Street, Tampa, Florida 33602. Prospective Respondents are strongly encouraged to attend. Interested firms will obtain a copy of the RFQ Instructions and Submittal Documents and submit a completed Response Package to THEA at 1104 East Twiggs Street, Suite 300, Tampa, Florida 33602. Response Packages are due by 2:00 p.m., May 27, 2016 at which time THEA will publicly open the responses.
Firms shall be qualified with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) in the following work group types: 2.0, Project Development & Environment (PD&E) Studies; 3.1, Minor Highway Design; 3.2, Major Highway Design; 3.3, Controlled Access Highway Design; 4.1.1, Miscellaneous Structures; 4.1.2, Minor Bridge Design; 6.1, Traffic Engineering Studies; 7.1, Signing, Pavement Marking & Channelization; 7.2, Lighting; 7.3, Signalization; 8.1, Control Surveying; 8.2, Design, Right of Way, & Const. Surveying; 9.1, Soil Exploration; 13.3, Policy Planning; 13.4, Systems Planning; 13.5, Subarea/Corridor Planning; 13.6, Land Planning/ Engineering; 13.7, Transportation Statistics; 14.0, Architect (a State of Florida Architecture License will be accepted in lieu of FDOT pre-qualification); 15.0, Landscape Architect (a State of Florida Landscape Architecture License will be accepted in lieu of FDOT pre-qualification); 20.0, Appraisal Services.
Response Packages shall include: a Letter of Transmittal, Statement of Qualifications, and completion of the RFQ Documents and Forms. Firms failing to submit the required RFQ Documents and Forms may be deemed non-responsive to the RFQ. The Schedule of Events containing additional important deadlines for this RFQ is located in the RFQ Instructions and Submittal Documents at Section A, Paragraph 1.4.
The RFQ Instructions and Submittal Documents are available through the DemandStar System (www.demandstar.com) or through an email request to Man.Le@tampa-xway.com. RESPONDENTS WHO OBTAIN THE RFQ INSTRUCTIONS AND SUBMITTAL DOCUMENTS FROM SOURCES OTHER THAN CITED ABOVE ARE CAUTIONED THAT THE DOCUMENTS MAY BE INCOMPLETE.
THEA encourages the use of registered or certified SBE firms to the greatest extent possible and requires nondiscrimination on the basis of race, color, sex and national origin in its employment and contracting practices.

Barbershop: The Next Cut - Directed by Malcolm D. Lee (The Best Man Holiday), the Chicago south-side com- munity has taken a turn for the worse between random killings and the gangs. The crew at Calvin’s Barbershop (Ice Cube, Cedric ‘The Enter- tainer’, Regina Hall, J. B. Smoove, Common and Nicki Minaj) come together to bring peace to their neighborhood.
This is the best of the Barber- shop films, because the film tackles all the social issues. Reallyenjoyedit!Made$35M. (Budget N/A). ****
Jungle Book - Directed by Jon Favreau (Iron Man), this movie was about a boy, Mowgli (Neel Sethi) being raised by a family of wolves, was forced to leave his home when a fearsome tiger, Shere Khan (Idris Elba) wants to kill him. Guided by a no-non- sense panther (Ben Kingsley) and a free-spirited bear (Bill Murray), Mowgli learns a valuable life lessons on how to survive on his epic journey. The special effects making the animals look real were truly amazing. Still No. 1 at box of- fice. Made $192M/ Foreign $351M. (Budget $175M). ****
The Boss - A billionaire (Melissa McCarthy) is sent to prison after she’s caught in- sider trading. When she re- turns from prison to rebrand herself, not everyone she messed over is so quick to for- give and forget. If you like the McCarthy style of comedy, then this film is for you. Made $49M.
