AIKENS
MR. RENEE ‘NAY-NAY’ FRANKLIN
A Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Renee Franklin “Nay- Nay” of Tampa, who passed away on Friday, February 2, 2018, will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018, at 2 p.m., at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Rev. Jerome Franklin, officiating.
The interment will follow.
Mr. Renee Franklin was born January 16, 1953, to the late Ellwood Mack Franklin, Sr. and Zoila Mae (Rowe) Franklin in Tampa. Renee graduated from Middleton High School, class of 1971. He attended Hillsborough Com- munity College and received his Associate of Arts degree. He continued his education at Western Kentucky University and received his Bachelor’s Degree.
On February 2, 2018 his mortal body slipped away and his soul found eternal rest and peace with God.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; brothers, Ell- wood Mack Franklin, Randy Franklin and Raynell Franklin.
Renee leaves to mourn his precious memories with: his devoted companion of 39 years, Vilma Bell; sons, Jeffery Bell, Jr. and Marcus Renee Franklin, Sr.; grandchildren, Gerise Gajadasighn, Sr., Mar- cus Renee Franklin, Jr., Jaquan Nathan, Kamara Alika Franklin; and great grandson, Gerise Gajadasingh, Jr.; broth- ers, Jerome Franklin (Shirley), Alvin E. Franklin (Margaret) and Rennex Franklin (Leatrice); sister, Peggy Jo Young; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, February 9th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m.
The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the service.

MRS. DOROTHY MAE TAYLOR
A Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Dorothy Mae Taylor, who passed away Thursday, February 1, 2018, will be held Saturday, February 10th at 11 a.m. at Aikens Funeral Home, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Elder Alphonso Am- mons, Associate Minister of Cathedral of Faith Church, Inc., officiating.
The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Ceme- tery.
Dorothy Taylor was born on December 3, 1938, to the late J. P. Curry and Gussie Mae Rus- sell, in Louisville, Alabama. Dorothy was a devoted member of Mt. Olive AME Church. She enjoyed cooking, being a mother to everyone, listening to gospel music, reading the Bible, and she was known for having the best jokes and her slick mouth.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her grand- parents.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories with: her husband, Robert L. Taylor; chil- dren, Mary Debose, Lillie Cross- ley, Tracia Taylor, Earnest Monroe, Chantay Davis, and Robert Taylor (Cynthia); a host of grandchildren from the Hughes, Taylor, DeBose, Mon- roe, Davis, and Crossley fami- lies; Darnisha and Darnell Ammons, Tyree Emanuel, and Deja Whidbee; brothers, Joe Curry (Grace), Orlando Curry (Ruby), and Willie James Curry (Daisy); sisters, Mildred Gamble (Jorge), Barbara McCoy (Jimmy-Lee), and Cora M. Bradley (LeRoy); a host of nieces and nephews; cousins, the Curry and Russell families; friends of the family, the James family and Geneva Acree; best friend, Debra Kelly; and a close friend, Rosetta Pierce.

ELDER ARTHUR LEE UNDERWOOD
A Homegoing Celebration for Elder Arthur Lee Underwood of Tampa, who passed away on Sun- day, February 4, 2018, will be held on Saturday, February 10th, 12 p.m. at Revealing Truth Min- istries, 5201 N. Armenia Avenue, Pastor Gregory A. Powe, officiat- ing.
The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 12:30 p.m.
Elder Arthur Lee Under- wood, Sr. was born on Septem- ber 17, 1929, to the late Rufus and Mary Underwood in Eufaula, Al- abama.
He was retired from Kaiser Aluminum as a master welder and mechanic. He was an awe- some provider, husband and fa- ther. He believed in working for what you want and was a born again believer servant of God.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; wife, Annie L. Un- derwood; sons, Arthur Lee, Jr. and Curtis D. Underwood; daughter, Precious Underwood; brother, Johnny Underwood; and sisters, Mattie L. Underwood and Louella Darby.
He leaves to cherish his mem- ories with: his children, John L. Dennis, Shirlee Anderson (Jerotha), Danny L. Daily (San- dra), Mary Colon (Idelias), Evette Minor (Dr. V.), Gregory (Sophia), Daniel, Darryl (Faye) and Elisha (Lisa) Underwood; 60 grandchil- dren; over 70 great grandchil- dren; sister, Annie L. Shorter; sisters-in-law, Maiden and Avie Camon; Grace Pringle (Lloyd) and Sherry Bowers (John); brothers-in-law, James and Bobby Camon; niece, Trena Jones (Bernard); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; goddaughter, Jonie Hargrett (Lynn); and friend, Sandy Det- tori and like a daughter, Faye Allen.
The visitation will be held at Revealing Truth Ministries on Saturday, February 10th from 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

MRS. THELMA DEBROW JONES
A Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Thelma Debrow Jones will be held Saturday, February 10, 2018, at 10 a. m. at Allen Chapel A. M. E. Church in Plant City.
Mrs. Thelma Debrow Jones was a Florida native, born in the city of Tampa, to Mr. Feldon, Sr. and Mrs. RuthieMae Debrow.
She is survived by her chil- dren: Deborah Jones of Tampa FL, DeVon Jones-Jenrette and husband, Stephan of Atlanta GA, Aggie Jones- Gainer and hus- band, David of Tampa, DeKeshia Jones of Plant City, FL, Pamela Jones and Columbus of Lake- land; FL; niece, Marie Hall of Brandon, FL; her sister, Loretta Gilbert of Tampa, Feldon De- brow, Jr. of Black Mountain, NC; brother- in-law, John T. Shaw of Bealsville, FL; godson, Ronnie Marshall and wife, Charlene. Thelma was the grandmother of Michael Hollins, Morris Stewart, Jr., Derrick Screen, Devetra Screen, DeAndrea Jones, Dia- mond Jenrette, Dauntae’ Ish- mael, Willie Dupon, Jr., Delizia Jones Jovonne Wilson, Jr., Diet- rich Jones, Dejavian Jones, De- Jazinae Jones, Nigena Broadnax, Ottrie Johnson, and Sandra Broadnax. She had 32 great- grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and close relatives to include Clairetha Younger, and Loretta Ludgood, Ruthie Hollinger, all of whom she loved dearly.
Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Feldon, Sr. and Mrs. RuthieMae Debrow; sister, Mrs. Jeanette Hardy Shaw, daughter, Dietrich Y. Jones-Dupont, and son, Joe N. Jones, Jr.
Thelma attended the public schools of DeSoto County, and graduated from Smith Brown High School, Class of 1962.
Thelma was married to Joe Jones, Sr. She worked at MacDill AFB, First National Bank of Se- bring, Agrico Mine, Alumax, Storer Cable, Comcast, Time Warner, American General In- surance and the owner of Grow- ing Dreams Child Care.
She truly loved the Lord and strived to please him. As a dedi- cated servant and honorable woman, she enjoyed teaching Sunday School, and serving on the Steward Board and Choir President. She loved fishing, football and researching her family tree and traveling. She was friends for many years with Mrs. Velma Carter, Mrs. Judy Sinclair and so many, many more, including the Allen Chapel Family.
A viewing will be held on Sat- urday, February 10th, 9-10 a. m. at the church.

MS. LUCINDA SWEET
A Homegoing Celebration for Ms. Lucinda Sweet of Tampa, who passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2018 in Jacksonville, will be held Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church of West Tampa, 1302 N. Willow Ave., Rev. Ray- ford Harper, pastor, with Bishop Michael W. Lewis, Sr. of First Victory Cathedral, officiating.
The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery on Tuesday, February 13th at 12:00 p.m.
Lucinda was born December 31, 1962 to the union of Willie and Lucille Sweet. She attended Hillsborough County public schools and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School, class of 1980.
She pursued her calling in worshipping God through her angelic voice of praise; she sang with the Florida Mass Choir and with many local choirs.
She was preceded in death by: her grandparents, Joseph and Rose Sweet; Levis and Pearl Walker and brother, Willie Sweet, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories: parents, Willie and Lucille Sweet; brother, Joseph Sweet (Candi); aunts, Rosa Sweet, Nancy McLauren (Jim- mie), Armenus McClendon (Carl) and aunt, Thelma Sweet; uncle, SW.; nephew, Daquavius Woody (Deja); niece, Lailah Sweet; godbrother, Eric Williams; and a host of cousins and other family members.
The visitation will be at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, February 9th from 5 to 7 p.m.
