MRS. MAURICE DELANCY GREEN
Mrs. Maurice Delancy Green of Tampa passed away, Tuesday, June 21, 2016. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, July 2at11a.m.atSt.JamesA.M.E. Church, 5202 S. 86th Street, Rev- erend Michael B. Price, Pastor with Reverend Murphy, officiat- ing. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Green was a native of Tampa, and gave her life to Christ at a young age and was a member of Mount Moriah Bap- tist Church. She later became a member of St. James A. M. E. Church under the pastorship of Francisco A. Rodriguez.
She was educated in the public schools of Hillsborough County and was a graduate of Don Thompson Vocational High School, Class of 1948. After graduating, she relocated to Boston, MA. When she returned to Tampa, Maurice worked for the School District of Hillsbor- ough County, retiring as a Prep- Cook from the Progress Village Elementary School Cafeteria. She later worked with the Hills- borough County Department of Aging Services as a driver for the SCNAP program, delivering meals to the elderly.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Howard Delancy and Mittie Mae Murphy De- lancey; and husband of 42 years, Perman A. Green.
She leaves to cherish fond memories: 3 devoted daughters, Yvonne Quarles (Lee), Janice

MS. DOROTHY JEAN (BEETS) DOWNEY
Homegoing celebration for Ms. Dorothy Jean (Beets) Downey, who passed away June 22, 2016, will be held Friday, July 1, 2016 at Mt. Cal- vary S. D. A. Church, 4902 40th St., Tampa, FL 33610, with Elder Theus Young offici- ating. Interment will be pri- vate.
Ms. Downey comes from a long line of Downeys who in- clude: grandfather, Mr. Hillard Downey; his loving wife, Bernice Downey, who bore him sixteen (16) chil- dren: eight boys and eight girls. Starting with the boys, the eldest, Theodis (passed), Thurmond, Laurence, Samuel, Clifton, Milton, Ernest, and Dennis. Now the girls: the eldest daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Jean (Beets) Downey, Deloris James, Bertha Brena White, Lorriane Carter, Janette, Brenda King, Betty and Bonnie.
Visitation for Mrs. Dorothy Jean (Beets) Downey will take place Friday morning from 9 a. m. to 11 a. m. at the church.
The processional at the church will assemble at 10:45
a. m.

On Wednesday, June 22, 2016, God gently whispered and summoned James Arthur Stro- man. He answered and was called from labor to eternal rest. His Service will be held on Satur- day July 2, 2016, at 11 a. m., at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 3005 E. Ellicott St. Tampa, 33610, Pastor, Ronnie Shipp, Officiating. Interment in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by: Howard and Willie Mae Stro- man, Catherine Brown, Elouise Emmons, Jessie Donald Todd, Doc George Lewis, Alphonso Williams, Tameka Wallace.
James Arthur Stroman was born February 21, 1952, to the late Howard and Willie Mae Stroman. He was educated in Hillsborough County Public Schools.
He leaves to mourn: a loving daughter; LaShaun Saputo and husband Vito; children John Henry Wallace, Jamal and Rhonda Wallace; his grandchil- dren: Davisha Callum (Yanhoi) and Victoria Saputo, Cierra, Va- lencia, Timesha, Erica, Reenicia, Ro’Kobe, Terraton; brother, Ralph Hawkins; aunts, Janet Quattlebaum, Martha Holland, Dorothy Stroman and Ena Stroma;, uncle, Larry (Betty ) Stroman; nieces: Dianne Hart, Darlene Brown, Geraldine Em- mons, Michelle Sessions (Eddie), Lisa Lewis, LaDonna, Jessica Todd, Tear H. MR. COLUMBUS OLIVER WARREN, SR.
Mr. Columbus Oliver War- ren, Sr. of Tampa passed away, Monday, June 27, 2016. Funeral services will be con- ducted Saturday, July 2 at 11 a. m. at Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church, Pastor T. D. Leonard, officiating with Elder Corregio Reaves, Eulo- gist. Interment will be held Tuesday, July 5, 2016 in the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
Mr. Warren was a native of Cogdell, Georgia and a resi- dent of Tampa for 70 years. He was educated in the public schools of Hillsborough County and furthered his edu- cation with Hillsborough Community College where he earned his AS degree. Mr. Warren enlisted into the United States Army, served his country during Vietnam, and was honorably discharged in 1979. He was a member of First Baptist Church of College Hill and in 2009, joined St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of Elder Corregio Reaves.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Joseph and Ruby Hubert Warren; four sis- ters, Inez Harmon, Lula Mae Watson, Mary Ella Watson and Marie Lewis; and three brothers, Jimmy Warren, Joseph Warren and Henry Warren.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted wife of 20 years, Anita Bowman War- ren; children, Gina Sherrod, Columbus Warren, Jr. (Can- dela), Sonja (Ramos) Dixon, and Rico Warren (Chanel); 8 grandchildren; sisters, Annie Tramel, Laurine (Virgil) Ja- cobs, and Ophelia Saffold (Ulysses); sisters-in-law, Olivia Warren and Wilma Warren; brother-in-law, Leslie Bowman (Toni); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

MRS. MARY F. ALLEN
Home going service for Mrs. Mary F. Allen, 97, will be held on Friday, July 1, 2016, 12 noon, at St. James A. M. E. Church, 5202 S. 86th Street, Tampa, Rev. Michael B. Price, Jr., Pastor with Rev. James Murphy, Officiating and Rev. James D. Sykes, Sr., Eulogist. In- terment will follow at Sunset Mem- ory Gardens in Thonotosassa, Florida.
Mary F. Allen, the daughter of the late William Cullen Allen and Anna Margaret Kate Bridgeford Allen, was born in DeKalb, Illinois on July 27, 1918. She had one older siste, Gladys Dumas, and two first cousins who were like sisters, Sadie Warren and Margaret Smith. She attended school in the DeKalb Public School System in Aurora, Illinois. Upon graduating from high school, Mary received her AA degree from LaGrange Junior Col- lege and her Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education from Virginia State College. She later received a Master of Arts in Education from the University of South Florida.
She was blessed with three chil- dren, Sandra Kelley, Hollianne Wright and Raleigh H. Allen, III. Mary Allen worked in the Hillsbor- ough County School System for 30 years where she primarily taught kindergarten, first grade and fourth grade.
She was engaged in various civic activities and organizations includ- ing Kappa Delta Pi, American Busi- ness Women Association, Hillsborough Retired Teachers As- sociation and Progress Village Civic Council. She was a leader and served as President in these organ- izations. She was also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
After retiring she worked for over 11 years at a large national bank, spent several months tutor- ing in an afterschool program, vol- unteered with Traveler’s Aid at the Tampa International Airport for 25 years, and remained a faithful member of St. James A. M. E. Church. When she was unable to drive she attended Mt. Pleasant A. M. E. Church. She was also a faith- ful member of the Bible-Based Fel- lowship-Carrollwood Tuesday morning Huddle (Bible Study).
She was affectionately known by her grandchildren, family and friends as “Grah,” and will be re- membered as a leader, teacher, lifetime mentor, friend, and faith- ful servant of God instilling in her family Christian and moral values until her death on June 27, 2016.
She was preceded in death by her son, Rev. Raleigh H. Allen, III. A beloved mother and a woman
of great faith, Mary Allen is sur- vived by: her daughters, Sandra J. Kelley (Prince) and Hollianne Wright; grandchildren, Prinsan Kelley, Adrienne Bell (Ronald), Terrence Nelson, Cheri Faison- Moore (Eric), Francene Faison, Raleigh Allen, IV and Martina S. Allen.; 8 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins who she dearly treasured; daughter-in-law, June Allen and a host of other rela- tives and friends.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 30, 2016 from 5:30-7:30 p. m. at St. James A. M. E. Church. Friends are asked to assemble at the church on Friday at approxi- mately 11:45 a. m.
