A memorial celebration for Mrs. Carrie Mae Bandy-Nel- son of Tampa, who passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2016, will be held on Thurs- day, July 7th, 6 p. m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Minister Delbert Means, officiating. The inter- ment will follow.
Carrie was born in New York, NY to the late John Bandy and Susan B. Ward on February 28, 1943.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, John Bandy and Susan B. Ward; brother, Charlie Ward-Bandy and son, Darrell Nelson.
She leaves to cherish her memories her children: Paris W. Nelson (Sharon), Nadine Green, (Carl), Darren J. Nel- son, Susan B. Timmons (Nick), Kenneth J. Nelson (Alicia), Carla Means (Del- bert), Reginald Nelson, Mis- ter Nelson, Sandria Thomas and Willie Dismuke, Jr.; 30 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; sisters, Khadeejah Abdullah (Elaine) of Sumter, SC and Elizabeth Bandy of New York and a host of nieces, nephews, and special friends.

A homegoing celebration for Mrs. Joyce Ann Sykes of Plant City, Florida who passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2016 will be held on Saturday, July 2nd, 11 a. m. at Allen Chapel AME Church, 1109 E. Laura St., Plant City, 33563 with Rev. Larry D. Keys, Sr. pastor, officiating. The inter- ment will be in Garden of Peace in Plant City.
Joyce attended Hillsbor- ough County Public Schools and graduated from George S. Middleton Senior High, class of 1965. She received a Bache- lor of Science degree in Ele- mentary Education from the University of South Florida and a Master’s degree from Nova Southeastern Univer- sity. She dedicated her life to teaching for 38 years in the Hillsborough County School System. Joyce attended Greater Mount Carmel AME Church in her younger years and after she married, she re- located to Plant City, Florida, where she joined and served as a stewardess and a faithful servant for the Lord at Allen Chapel AME Church until God called her home.
She was preceded in death by: her father, Benjamin F. Bryant. Sr.; mother, Curtis Lee Bryant; step-son, Rodney Sykes; sisters, Lillian J. Evans and Gloria R. Mitchell and aunt, Christine Richardson.
She leaves to cherish her memories with her husband, Leroy Sykes; children, Regi- nald Bryant, Jason L. Sykes (Dawn); step-children, Gabriel (Carol) and Donnivle Sykes; grandchildren, Kiri Holmes and Laya Sykes; great- grandchild, Kyri Holmes; brother, Rev. Ben- jamin F. A celebration of life for Rev. Fred L. Triplett of Seffner, who passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2016, will be held on Saturday, July 2nd, 2 p. m. at First M. B. Church of Seffner, 6720 County Rd. 579, Rev. Nathaniel Love, pastor, officiating. The inter- ment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Rev. Fred L. Triplett, son of the late James and Susie Triplett, was born on Decem- ber 15, 1922 in Wakulla County, Florida. He was edu- cated in the schools of Wakulla County. He also at- tended FAMU. He was em- ployed by the State of Ohio, while in Dayton and by the City of Tampa.
He received Christ at an early age at Thessalonia Mis- sionary Baptist Church. Upon being ordained as a minister, he pastored in Indi- ana and Dayton. Upon re- turning to Florida he pastored Loving Hill, Ebenezer, and Macedonia Churches. He served in the military two and a half years, where he received the World War II victory medal.
He was preceded in death by: his brothers, James Wal- don Triplett, Willis Triplett and Roosevelt Triplett and sister, Tessie Miller.
