Program Set To Help Prepare For A Job
On Thursday, October 20th, at 1:30 p.m., a program discussing employment preparation will be held at the Robert W. Saunders Public Library, 1505 N. Nebraska Avenue.
Paula Vieillet, of My Employment Options, will feature an instructional program. She will talk about the job market, where jobs are located, and things needed in preparation to be hired.
Ms. Vieillet will talk about the changes in the job market, identifying declining and growing occupations with specific information on where jobs are located.
The participants will also receive tips on how to talk about gaps in employment, resume prepa- ration and free assistance availability.
The event is earmarked for adults and material does not necessarily reflect the official policy of the library.
‘Evening Of Poetry’ Planned

Poetry lovers are invited to hear popular poet, Shay Cook, on Monday, October 17th, at 5:30 p.m., at Robert W. Saunders Library, 1505 N. Ne- braska Avenue.
“An Evening of Poetry with Shay Cook,” will fea- ture poems from her book en- titled “Black Silk.” Using free verse and rhyme, Ms. Cook will present poetry and prose that bring a message. Ms. Cook is also the author of “A Pale Shade of Color,” that is slated for release in the spring of 2017.
Ms. Cook earned her

Bachelor’s Degree in English from the University of Phoenix. She continued her education at National Univer-
sity, where she earned a Mas- ters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing.
She is the recipient of nu- merous forms of recognition, including the Hillsborough County Lit Wit Poetry Contest, and winner of the Tampa Tribune Letter of the Day.
Her poem entitled, “Play- ing Dress Up,” was pub- lished in the July 2016 issue of Mother’s Always Write Magazine and her poem “Denial” was published in the July 2016 issue of Silver Birch Press.
Ms. Cook’s work has also appeared in other publications on a national level.
