MR. KEVIN ‘K LOVE’ THOMAS
A Memorial Service for Kevin “K Love” Thomas, who passed away December 26, 2017, will be held Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 11 a. m. at Harmon Funeral Home, 5002 N. 40th St., Tampa, FL 33610.
Mr. Thomas was born March 10, 1970 in Tampa, FL, to Eliza- beth Thomas and the late Charles H. Thomas. He was a part of the Pentecostal Church of God under the leadership of Bishop Wilson. He was educated in the Hillsborough County Pub- lic School System. Mr. Thomas was a fun-loving man who loved God. He loved basketball, read- ing, laughing, and he was always telling jokes. He was the true meaning of “A rose growing in the concrete.” He will truly be missed.
Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by: his father, Mr. Charles H. Thomas; and sister, Cynthia Thomas.
He leaves to cherish memo- ries: his mother, Elizabeth; fi- ancée, Kathy; son, Kevin, Jr. (Kim); favored daughters, Alyssa and Jocelyn; grandchil- dren, Kannon and Kaden; sib- lings, Curtis (Dana), Charles, Jimmy, Jonathan, Theresa, and Leslie; nieces, Tayhron and Shameka; best friend, Shawon; and a host of other relatives and special family friends, among who is Mrs. Lorene Harris.

MR. SCOTT EVANS, SR.
Mr. Scott Evans, Sr. of Tampa, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017. Funeral services will be conducted Satur- day, January 13, at 2 p. m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, with Super- intendent Jerry Cochran, Pastor of New Jerusalem Pentecostal Faith Ministries, Inc., Albany, GA, 31701, officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memo- rial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Evans was a native of Chipley, Florida and a resident of Tampa for many years.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, George Evans, Sr. and Mary L. Jones Evans; son, Arthur George Whaley; sis- ter, Essie Pearl Toomer; broth- ers, Willie Guss Evans, James Williams and Johnnie Lee Williams; and grandson, Apostle Christopher Reed Evans, Sr.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Overseer Julia Evans; daughter, Ida Evans; two sons, Scott Evans, Jr. and Don Tyron Evans; grandchildren, Julia Mae Whaley, Lisa Whaley Duncan, Vonica Whaley, Jeanette Scott Whaley, Kathy Scott Whaley, Darien Evans, Joy Evans, Dana Evans and Donna Evans; a host of great grandchil- dren; brothers, George Evans, Jr., James Evans, Ernest Frank Evans of Charleston, SC, and Charlie Williams; sisters, Lottie Kate Lane, Natalie Tracy, Ruby Miller and Annie Mae Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other sor- rowing relatives of Albany, GA and Tampa, Florida.
The remains will repose after 5 p. m. Friday, January 12, at Ray Williams Funeral Home.

MR. ISADORE ‘BILLY’ REED
Mr. Isadore “Billy” Reed of Tampa passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2017. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, Janu- ary 13, at 11 a. m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 5225 N. Himes Avenue, with Father Ed Lamp, pre- siding. Entombment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Isadore “Billy” Reed was born on December 10, 1931 in Tampa, FL, to the late Isadore and Bessie Reed. Mr. Reed was a graduate of Middleton High School (1949) where he excelled in football, bas- ketball and baseball. He furthered his education at Florida A&M Uni- versity and continued to excel in the three sports. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education and a Master’s in Education. At FAMU, he also met the love of his life his wife, Dorothye, a FAMU cheerleader. Mr. Reed served two years in the United States Army.
After graduation, Coach Reed returned to Hillsborough County and began a 40-year career in the Hillsborough County School Dis- trict as a teacher and high school coach. His coaching career began at his alma mater, Middleton High School where he coached football and baseball from 1957-1970. When Middleton closed, as a result of desegregation, he moved to Hillsborough High School, coach- ing from 1971 to 1997. The baseball field at Hillsborough High School is named in his honor.
During his legendary coaching career, he obtained over 50 schol- arships for baseball players and coached several players who even- tually became professional major league baseball stars. He also helped establish the Belmont Heights Little League, which pro- duced several major leaguers and four Little League World Series teams from 1973-1981. Coach Reed was a nurturing father figure to many young men instilling values of responsibility, accountability and respect.
He was a member of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church for over 50 years and served on the Knights of Peter Claver, St. Peter Claver’s Men Senate and as an Usher.
He was also active in the Catholic Charities. Coach Reed was a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fra- ternity, Inc., Legends Breakfast Club, FCA, FAMU Alumni Associa- tion, New Horizon of Men and the Baseball Museum.
He received the following awards: 400th Baseball Victory
Award, Coach of the Year in Base- ball, Coach of the Year in Football, J. Crockett Farnell Award, Kappa Alpha Psi Citizen of the Year Award (two years), West Coast Rattlers Wall of Fame for Hillsbor- ough County, Florida Athletic Coaches Association Appreciation Award for Outstanding Service to High School Athletes, Martin Luther King Humanitarian Award, Tropicana Field Walk of Fame, Hillsborough Sports Hall of Fame, FACA Hall of Fame, Governor’s Leadership Award and a Resolu- tion from the House of Represen- tatives. He also earned induction into two halls of fame, FAMU and Hillsborough High football.
In retirement, Coach Reed in- dulged in his passion for golf, at- tended a weekly Bible study, participated in his Monday Men’s Summit, and Wednesday McDon- ald’s Breakfast Club. He also at- tended many high school and professional baseball games and never missed the annual high school Saladino Baseball Tourna- ment.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; sister, Azalee Reed Hill; and nephew, Kenneth C. Hill.
Cherishing him in their hearts as well as their spirits are: his adoring wife of 56 years, Dorothye Brooks Reed; loving daughters, Monica Reed Rodgers (Gregory), and Dori Reed Blanc (Eric); beloved grandchildren, Alexandria Reed Benton, Kendal Blanc and Eric Blanc, II; devoted goddaugh- ter, Veronica K. Borders (Charles and family); faithful brother-in- law, Reverend Tommy L. Brooks (Mary), Ocala, FL; caring nephews and nieces, Ronald Brown (Cindy), Baton Rouge, LA, Bettye Hill Davis, Tampa, FL, Freddye L. Hill, Ph.D., New Orleans, LA and Keith Roberts (Lisa), Atlanta, GA; equally faithful nephews and nieces, Corey Brooks (Teresa), Ocala, FL, Tommy L. Brooks, Jr. (Margie), London, England, Erica Brooks, Orlando, FL and Nichole and Kennith Brooks; many caring grand nephews and nieces, Hillary and Warren Davis, Ricardo Hill, Reginald Brown, Eric Brown, Ka- pano Hill, Keith Roberts, Douglas Roberts, Ronni Lynn Brown, Ryan Brown and Nia Roberts; lifelong friend, like a brother, Clifford “Quack” Brown (Betty); like sons, Woodrow “Woody” Simmons, Billy Mitchell and LuArthur “Buster” Robertson; like daugh- ters, Carla White Sunday and Tarita James Williams; and a host of other relatives and sorrowing friends.
The visitation will be held Fri- day, January 12 from 5-7 p. m. at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, 1203 N. Nebraska Avenue. MR. DON CHAPPELLE WILLIAMS, JR.
Mr. Don Chappelle Williams, Jr., of Valrico, FL, passed away Fri- day, January 5, 2018. Funeral serv- ices will be conducted Saturday, January 13, at 4 p. m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, with Reverend Darrell Collins, officiating. Inter- ment will be private.
Mr. Don Chappelle Williams, Jr. was born and raised in Tampa, FL until he relocated to Pittsburgh, PA for his employment. He re- turned to Tampa after his retire- ment. Mr. Williams was employed as a Senior Engineer with the Nu- clear Services Division at Westing- house Electric Corp. for 35 years.
He was educated in the Public Schools of Hillsborough County and was a graduate of Middleton High School (Class of 1957). He furthered his education and earned a Bachelor’s degree from Allen University (Class of 1962). Don was a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.
Don was preceded in death by: his parents, Don C. and Ursel R. Williams; and his son, Nicolas A. Williams (Rosa).
Don leaves to cherish his mem- ory: his loving and devoted wife, Peggy Ann Williams; son, Lt. Col. (RET) Neicko C. Williams (Wilmer “Cocoa”) of Stafford, VA; daugh- ter, Erika Lewis (Robert) of Stafford, VA; sister, Ursel R. Staten (Andre) of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Roman C. Williams, Neuveaux Williams, Avian Williams, Chaz Lewis, Amari C.
