Shaq Says LeBron Shouldn't Chase Championships Anymore
SHAQUILLE O'NEAL AND LEBRON JAMES
Hall of Fame center Shaquille O'Neal says he spent the last few seasons of his career chasing champi- onships.
He doesn't believe Le- Bron James should do the same thing.
O'Neal won three cham- pionships with the Los Ange- les Lakers and one with the Miami Heat, but he didn't win any in the final three seasons of his 19-year career.
"My problem toward the end of my career was I was trying to shut everybody up and I was greedy [for more championships]," O'Neal said in an interview with ESPN at a pre-draft event on Friday evening for teens from the Y in Brooklyn. "After I got to three [titles], everybody was saying I couldn't get an- other. So I got four. After I got the fourth, they were saying I couldn't get another one. So I was trying to make quick stops to get it. Phoenix, Cleve- land, Boston."
He doesn't think James should try to chase champi- onships at this point in his 15- year career. James can test free agency this summer if he declines the player option on his contract.
"Somebody told me a long time ago -- they said your book is already set [before the later stages of your career]. You can add index pages to- ward the end, but your book is already set. So LeBron's book is already set," O'Neal said. "He done already passed up legends; he done already made his mark -- he has three rings. His mentality now is probably: I want to get four before [Golden State Warriors guard] Steph [Curry] does. That's probably his mentality now.ButifIwashim,I wouldn't be trying to get four, five and six because it ain't going to matter. It's just something else to talk about, something else to add to the pages. He's a legend, talked about as who is the best be- tween he and Michael Jor- dan, so he's set."

So much for Floyd May- weather, Jr. crossing over into the Octagon.
Despite rumors that the undefeated boxing legend was gearing up for a mixed martial arts (MMA) debut, “Money” seems to be back- tracking a bit.
In a recent interview, Mayweather explained that he’s simply too busy to worry about a return to com- bat sports.
“I’m so busy, I got so many different things going on, on the outside,” May- weather said. “If you
haven’t heard, I’m building the tallest building in New York City. I’m one of the in- vestors, I invested nine fig- ures, actually.”
Remember, May- weather was supposed to train alongside UFC welter- weight champion Tyron Woodley in preparation for a potential debut in Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Mayweather even went as far as taunting for- mer boxing opponent and UFC superstar Conor Mc- Gregor about his wrestling abilities.
