Tyler Perry is building his empire and his next ven- ture is coming with a little help from his friends at BET.
During his Ultimate Icon Award acceptance speech at the 2019 BET Awards on Sun- day, Perry acknowledged the #OscarsSoWhite fight but pointed out how he chose to focus on self-sufficiency in- stead. In fact, the mention caused a bit of a stir on Black Twitter, sparking conversa- tions around the problematic nature of his own content as well as skepticism surround- ing the nobility of what is es- sentially black capitalism.
“While you’re fighting for a seat at the table, I’ll be down in Atlanta building my own,” Perry said, to roaring ap- plause in the audience.
Along with his Tyler Perry Studios, it looks like Perry is

Oprah Considering A Reboot Of 'The Oprah Winfrey Show'
Could Oprah Winfrey be considering a reboot of her classic The Oprah Winfrey Show that we’ve come to love and know her for?
Surely, we’d love for Win- frey to get a new talk show as much as we loved seeing everyone in her old audience get a car!
It’s been eight years since the show aired, but Win- frey’s got the show on her mind and opened up to En- tertainment Tonight about the possibility of bringing it back.
“I would love to make that happen, let me tell you. But maybe not every day,” Win-

frey said. “For 25 years, it was perfect.”
