AIKENS
MS. MAXINE LEOLA EDWARDS
A Homegoing Celebration for Ms. Maxine Edwards of Tampa, Florida, who passed away on Monday, February 12, 2018, will be held on Saturday, February 24th, 11 a. m., at Mt. Moriah Primitive Baptist Church, Dr. B. R. Fulton, Jr., pastor, officiating. The inter- ment will be held in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Maxine was born Septem- ber 16, 1931 in Tampa, Florida, to the late Aster and Leola Bell, Sr. She attended the schools of Hillsborough County.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, one son, one sister and six brothers.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories: 4 daughters, Lori Ann Edwards (Joe Brown), Mary Ann Hall (Lin- wood), Gloria Ann (Manuel), and JoAnn Norwood (Micheal); 13 grandchildren; 17 great- grandchildren; 2 great- great grandchildren; 1 brother, Rudolph Bell; 1 sister, Verdell Rodgers (Earnest); a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends, who will dearly miss

MR. ROODY DESROSIERS
MR. THEODIS ‘OTIS’ KIRNES
A Celebration of Life for Mr. Theodis “Otis” Kirnes of Tampa, Florida, who passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, will be held on Saturday, February 24th, 11 a. m. at Aikens Funeral Home, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Rev. Michael Neely, officiating. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Theodis Kirnes was born on July 7, 1954 to the late Clarence Kirnes and Liller Marie Clinton- Kirnes. Theodis was an excellent service man for the community. He loved playing the lottery, working out, sports, and listen- ing to music, especially “the blues.” He was very outgoing, so- ciable and fond of the company of women, friends and family.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, grandparents, and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He leaves to cherish his pre- cious memories with: his 13 chil- dren; 16 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; brothers, Clarence Kirnes, Jr. and Bruce Kirnes (Tammie); sister Clara Mitchell-Hill (Luis); and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends.
The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, February 23rd from 5 to 8 p. m.
The family and friends are asked to meet at Aikens Funeral Home on Saturday for the serv- ice.

MRS. CAROLYN FULLER WATSON
A Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Carolyn Fuller Watson of Tampa, Florida, who passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2018, will be held Saturday, Feb- ruary 24th, 2 p. m. at New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 2511 E. Columbus Dr., Rev. Larry Roundtree, II, pastor, offi- ciating. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Carolyn Fuller Watson was born in Ft. Gaines, Georgia on June 2, 1942. She was the third child of six children born to the late William Fuller, Sr. and Susie Mae Fuller. She attended Chattahoochee Elementary School and graduated from As- bury Speight High School in 1960 as the Salutatorian of her class. During her school days she was on the dance team, a cheerleader and an oratorical speaker. At church she was a member of the choir.
After graduation she matric- ulated to Albany State (College) University in Albany, Georgia, where she majored in Science Education with emphasis in Bi- ology and Mathematics and re- ceived a Bachelor of Science Degree.
In 1965 she became an edu- cator in Brook County School System in Quitman, GA. She taught 10th grade Biology for one year. On March 7, 1966 Carolyn married Reverend Frank Moses Watson. To keep the family to- gether, Carolyn transferred to the Valdosta, GA School System, where her husband had secured a job. There she taught 8th grade Math until 1969.
Seeking a change and a bet- ter job opportunity, Carolyn and her husband, along with their three children relocated to Tampa, FL. Carolyn taught at Franklin Jr. High School, a trade center, until she retired in 1997.
For a brief period, she came out of retirement and taught gifted and honors students at McLane Middle School.
During most of her career Carolyn sponsored the Science Fair and was the active Chair of the Science Departments; she also sat on the newsletter com- mittee. The ultimate profes- sional, Carolyn was a member of The Tampa Bay Area Alumni Chapter of Albany State (Col- lege) University, where she served as corresponding secre- tary; The Live Oak Civic Associa- tion, serving as secretary; a member of The New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Inc., serving as Chair Lady of the Dea- coness Board, Choir #1, and
the 38th annual Mary McLeod Bethune Achievement Award.
Carolyn lived her life as a woman of high moral character, good will, dignity and self-re- spect. She was a peacemaker and was able to get along with most people. She was soft-spo- ken, kind and happy most of the time.
Choosing the noble profes- sion of teaching, Carolyn touched the lives of thousands of children and adults during her tenure. Many young ladies had the benefit of having her serve as their mentor.
Beginning in her formative years, Carolyn was a special person. She reigned as a Queen of her high school. Even during her higher education, she reigned as a special person hav- ing been chosen Miss Bio- physics Queen, ASU Tampa Bay Area Alumni Chapter Queen. At the church, she was crowned Miss New Mount Zion.
A loving person, Carolyn adored her family and was al- ways happy when she was in their presence. And she thor- oughly enjoyed managing her household so that her family would reap the benefits of her labor. Her hobbies included sewing, reading, interior deco- rating, gardening and landscap- ing.
Further, Carolyn enjoyed being self-employed as a dis- tributor of GNLD. Gone from this earth but not forgotten, Carolyn Fuller Watson lives on in the hearts and mind of her family and all of those who had the privilege of knowing this re- markable lady.
Her legacy will live on through: her children, Gary (Se- lecia) Watson, Angela John- son, and Kaladia (Joseph) Chaney; siblings, Nella Wade, Paul Fuller, David Fuller and Robert Fuller; aunt, Effie M. Brown; sisters-in- law, Pauline Fuller, Hazel Fuller, Mary Watson Jones and Adel Watson Gay; brother- in-law, Dr. T. Marshall Jones; grandchildren, Garry “Roshod” Johnson, Gary Wat- son, Jr., Andrew Israel Woodard, Norma Pruitt, Audra Calloway, Christopher Wat- son, Jasmine Woodard, Larenz Johnson, Tyler Watson, Miriam Woodard, Danielle Chaney, Aja Chaney and Haley Chaney; great- grandchildren, Dontae Morris, Javari Johnson, Zariah Johnson, Jermyah Cal- loway, Jaheem Calloway, and Aubreii Calloway; special friends, Geraldine Twine, Yvonne Douglas, James Copeland and Kimberly Easy; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
The visitation will be held at New Mt. Zion M. B. Church on Friday, February 23rd from 5 to 7 p. m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p. m.
