R. Kelly Declared 'An Extreme Danger To The Community' As He's Denied Bond
CHICAGO, IL – Federal prosecutors deemed R. Kelly “an extreme danger to the community, especially to minor girls” during a hearing in U. S. District Court in Chicago on Tuesday (July 16). Consequently, the embattled R&B star was denied bond, ac- cording to the Chicago Sun- Times.
Assistant U. S. Attorney Angel Krull told Judge Harry Leinenweber, “This risk of obstruction is real. This risk is ongoing. This risk is heightened by the defendant’s fame and power.”
He added Kelly also “has a unique ability to influence and intimidate witnesses and vic- tims, and that continues to this day.”
Kelly’s attorney, Steve Greenberg, said Kelly is not a flight risk and referenced one of Kelly’s biggest hits during his argument.
“Unlike his most famous song — ‘I Believe I Can Fly’ — Mr. Kelly doesn’t like to fly,” Greenberg said. “How could he flee? He has no money. There’s no evidence that he’s a risk to minors at all at this point.”
Kelly was arrested (again) on Thursday (July 11) in his hometown of Chicago.

two indictments the following day that could lock him up for the rest of his life. In Brooklyn and Chicago, Kelly faces a total of 18 counts for alleged crimes against 10 victims. Kelly faces a maximum prison sentence of 195 years in Chicago alone. He faces decades more in New York and was already facing state charges that could imprison him for up to 30 years.
Kelly’s arraignment and detention hearing started about 1 p.m. local time in Leinenweber’s 19th floor courtroom at the Dirksen Fed- eral Courthouse, where cam- era crews had been camped out since 9 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Greenberg insists he should be let out on bond.
Master P Recalls His Not So Pleasant Encounter With Tyler Perry
Master P says when he ran into Tyler Perry during Essence Fest last weekend, the moment left him feeling any- thing but thrilled as the “en- ergy wasn’t there”.
In an interview with TheYBF‘s podcast, the hip hop mogul and entrepreneur ad- mits he expected a more wel- coming interaction with Perry during their first en- counter.
“I bumped into Tyler Perry...but it was awkward. I thought we was going to em- brace each other. I think that people are afraid when they see me, because they know I’m so independent. And I’m doing this, so I don’t know, am I threatening to them or what- ever. I’m ready to embrace him, like a black man from New Orleans. Like, I’m happy for you brother...but the en- ergy wasn’t there.”
He went on to shade Perry for building his career off playing a man in drag as

the beloved Medea character, a franchise that has reportedly made more than $569 million. “I wouldn’t put on a dress to be in a movie. My morals are different. I don’t care how much money, I just wouldn’t do it,” says Master P.
It seems the No Limit Records CEO was hoping Perry would acknowledge his efforts as a filmmaker.
“To see me, where I’m ris- ing up now in the film side, I
woulda thought he’d be happy, another brother from New Orleans...it wasn’t a bad thing but it wasn’t what I ex- pected.”
Master P’s latest feature, “I Got The Hook-Up 2,” is the sequel to the 1998 cult classic, starring himself, his son Romeo Miller, comedians Anthony Johnson, DC Young Fly, John Wither- spoon, Michael Blackson and more.

Soulja Boy Released From Jail And Immediately Sued For Skipping Gig
Soulja Boy’s time behind bars may be over, but his legal issues aren’t. After se- curing an early release from jail in his probation violation case, Big Draco has been hit with a lawsuit for no-showing an event in April.
According to TMZ, pro- moter William Hicks is suing Soulja for bailing on a gig at the Luxe Lounge in Birmingham, Alabama after being paid almost $9,000 up- front. Soulja’s manager al- legedly claimed his client wasn’t able to make it due to a missed flight, but Hicks

believes the “Crank That” creator opted to party in Las
Vegas instead.
Hicks is seeking
$13,487.85 for breach of con- tract and to recoup the money he lost. The promoter has accused Soulja of refus- ing to pay back $8,750 sent via wire transfer.
“Every time I ask for the money, they don’t respond,” Hicks told BOSSIP in April. “I think it’s really really piti- ful. You’re supposed to be a professional. But you’re in Vegas smoking and drinking and you screwed people over in another state. That is bad business.”
