MR. MARK ANTHONY DURDEN
Mr. Mark Anthony Durden, of Tampa, Florida, passed away at a local hospital on January 6, 2022. Funeral service will be held on Saturday January 15, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 3000 N. 29th Street, Tampa, Florida, with Elder Willie Jones, Officiating. Interment will follow in Orange Hill Cemetery, 4900 E Chelsea Street, Tampa, Florida.
Mr. Mark Anthony Durden was born on February 28, 1959 in Tampa, Florida to the late Dan and Gussie Lee Durden.
He was educated in the public schools of Hillsborough County and was a graduate of Brandon High School. Mark loved dee-jay- ing and playing his oldies but goodies music. He love speaking on things and events that hap- pened back in the day as he would call it. He kept a smile on his face and befriended everyone he came in contact with.
Mark was a member of St. Paul Temple COGIC under the pas- turage of the late Elder Paul Williams and Elder H. L. Simpson.
Mr. Durden was preceded in death by his 3 brothers, Robert Akins, Jimmy and Bobby Duncan; 2 sisters, Brenda Durden Sim- mons and Sharon Durden Jones.
He leaves to cherish fond memories with: his devoted fam- ily; sister, Florence Durden; brother, Michael Durden; special sister, Brenda Mayo and friend Linda Burney; 2 uncles, Emory Gaines (Jean) of Raleigh, NC, and Dave Gaines (Betty) of Tampa; 1 aunt, Celestine Gaines of Bay Minette, Alabama; nephews, Clarence (Edwin), Caldwell (Cathy)), Kenyatta Millis (Lori), Paul Durden (Kenniethia), Ah- maad Mayo and Javares Mayo; nieces, Veranique Ford, Yaminah Holloman, Camille Daniels, Edne- cia Durden and Neoneica Brookins; brother-in-law, Elder Willie Jones; god brothers, Muhammed Rahman (Chola), Willie Grimsley, Jeff, Carey, Mor- ris and Derrick Reid; a host of other sorrowing nieces, nephews, relatives and friends including Jr. Mills, Antony Taylor, J.C. Donnell Houston and all of his Home Health Care Aides.
There will be a viewing on Fri- day January 14, 2022 at Wilson Funeral Home from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m.

MRS. JANNIE MAE MOORER SIMPSON
A Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Jannie Mae Moorer Simpson will be held on Saturday January 15, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Allen Tem- ple A.M.E. Church, 2101 N. Lowe Street, Tampa, Florida with Senior Pastor Rev. Dr. Glenn B. Dames, Jr., Officiating. Interment will be held at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
Mrs. Jannie Mae Moorer Simp- son was born on October 16, 1944, to the late Jake and Albertha Moorer, in Summerville, South Carolina. She was called home to be with the Lord on December 31, 2021, at Advent Health Tampa, Florida.
She received her education in the public school of Dorchester County; graduating as the Valedic- torian from Alston High School in 1962. After graduating high school, she moved to New York, where she graduated from Molloy College, Rockville Centre, New York with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Jannie was united in holy mat- rimony to Alfonzo Simpson on De- cember 11, 1966. This union was blessed with a set of fraternal twins, a son and a daughter.
She retired after 30 years from Nassau County Medical Center, East Meadow, New York as Regis- tered Nurse. Along with her dedica- tion to her family, she loved meetings, talking and helping peo- ple and she was a stranger to no one. She had a green thumb for house plants. She enjoyed reading, listening to music, traveling and shopping.
After moving to Tampa, she be- came a member of Allen Temple AME Church for 20 years. She served as a Class Leader #25, Trin- ity Usher Board, Stewardess Board, Women’s Missionary Society, Sen- ior Adult Ministry, Wednesday Noon Day Bible, Nursing Ministry, Buds and Blossoms, Women Min- istry, and the Lay organization.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; two brothers, Jake Jr. and John Henry Moorer.
Mrs. Simpson leaves to cherish memories of with her best friend and devoted husband, Alfonzo Simpson; two children, Edward Simpson and Laura Simpson (Dev Purkayastha); grandson, Reid Simpson Purkayastha; two sisters, Florence (Joel) Griffey and Mar- garet (Roosevelt) Prioleau; three aunts, Leona Doiley, Rosena Butler and Elease (Herman) Davis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, sister-in law, Myra Walker, other relatives and friends.
There will be a viewing on Fri- day January 14, 2022, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Allen Temple A.M.E. Church.

MR. WALTER JAMES SCOTT, III
A Funeral Service for Mr. Wal- ter James Scott, III, will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Luke A.M.E. Church, 2709 N. 25th Street, Tampa, Florida, 33605, Rev. Kirk Bogen, Presiding, with Rev. William Taylor, Officiating. Inter- ment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
A native of Tampa, Mr. Walter James Scott, III, was born on De- cember 25, 1979, to Sherby Jean Scott and Walter James Scott, Jr. He was educated in the Hillsbor- ough County School System.
Mr. Scott attended St. Luke A.M.E. Church in his younger years and was employed with USF until his health failed. Walter en- joyed writing rap songs and clean- ing his car. Walter loved his family and was a loving and de- voted father to his children. He transitioned to be with the Lord on January 4, 2022.
He was preceded in death by: his grandparents, Fulton and Katie Morris, James and Lillian Scott and sister, Bridget Hill.
Mr. Scott leaves fond memories in the hearts of his family that in- clude: his sons, Travion Scott, Za- ylen Scott and daughter, Alicia Scott; children, Chrisean Jones and Cameron Jones (and their mother, Sade Morris), Jermequa Hall, Quanzail Grier; mother, Sherby Scott and father,
Walter Scott Jr.; sisters, Tonga Hart and Aleshia Scott (Alabama); brother, Anthony Scott (Al- abama); aunts, Rosa Sutton and Linda Kelly; nieces, Siedah Hart, Sikira Hart, Mountrayl Mack, Jayln Hart and Jocelyn Hart; grandnieces, Myla Mack, Journee Hart, Milan Mack, Malayah Whitaker and Dynin Johnson; grandnephews, Nasir Cochran, Amarion Mount, Amahd Mount, Jayceon Hart and Pharell Burney; devoted cousins, Latasha Beard, Terrance Sutton, KaJuan McCray and Anna Smith; along with other cherished cousins, friends and neighbors too numerous to list.

MRS. MARGARET WILLIAMS
A Funeral Service for Mrs. Mar- garet Williams who, passed on Jan- uary 3, 2022, will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Connections Community Church, 2716 N. 34th Street, Tampa, Florida with Rev. Dr. Jeffery John- son, Officiating.
Mrs. Margaret Williams was born on November 28, 1928, in Americus Georgia, to the parentage of George and Laura Cobb. Mar- garet Cobb, (the 9th of 11 children) graced the world with her arrival.
Margaret in later years would relocate to Los Angeles, California, where she would meet and later married the late Bennie Williams.
While residing in Los Angeles she found membership at Sunset Missionary Baptist Church, where she remained a longtime member until relocating to Seffner Florida and joined First Missionary Baptist Church, of Seffner. It was here she served as a devoted member taking on several responsibilities and du- ties including but not limited to “Mother of the Church.”
Margaret leaves behind to cher- ish memories of her with: a caring and loving daughter, Evette Kelly (Willie Kelly); grandsons, Jamell Reed, Corey Kelly (Tenisa Jones), Derik Kelly, Willie Bray-Kelly, III, (Adrian Bray-Kelly), Carlton Kelly (Rachel Kelly) and Steven Kelly; granddaughters, Sharnae Kelly and Demetria Washington; a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family that will miss her dearly!

MRS. DORIS WILLIAMS
A Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Doris Williams, who passed away on January 5, 2022, will be held Saturday, January 15, 202, at 11 a. m. at Northside Mis- sionary Baptist Church, 5706 North 40th Street, Tampa, Florida. Keith Bryon Ritman (As- sociate Pastor of One Way Chris- tian Church, 2100 West McCormick Rd., Apopka, Florida) will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memo- rial Park Cemetery.
Doris Williams was born in Tampa, Florida, August 27, 1939, to James and Mozell Coleman. Doris received her education through Hillsborough County Schools and graduated from Mid- dleton High School. She later worked as a Teacher’s Aide in the Hillsborough County School Sys- tem before retiring.
Mother Doris’ mind was open for her spirit to be holy and ready to enter into God’s Holy Kingdom. She was born-again in water and in her heart. She overcame her flesh, giving her the Victory in Christ; and was a devoted wife, and mother of four sons.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Alfred Williams, Sr.; son: Gregory Williams; parents: James and Mozell Coleman; brothers: James and Authar; sis- ters: Netta, Elizabeth, Beatrice, Mozell (aka Bernice), and Grace.
She leaves to cherish her pre- cious memories with: her sons: Al- fred Williams, Jr. (Tyiese), Darryl Williams, Reggie Williams (Regina), and sister: Mary Lundy (Orlando); grandchildren: Jacquelyn (aka Connie), Minyon, Felnicia (aka, Neecee), Alnicia, Schiranny, Dante’, Dionne, Sha- juanna Kitchen Pate (Michael), Serena, Deja, P. J, Latesha, Jamal (aka, Peanut), Reggie, Jr., Taylor (Kenny), Jakobe, and Javen; great-grandchildren: Grace, Ja- maal, Tahj, Isayah, Zaniyah, Leg- end, Gregory, Eugene, Katelynn, Miracle, Brylan, Bailey, Jordan, Jamal, Jamel, Kenny, Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends as well as her friend and Caregiver, Rose Smith.
There will be a viewing on Sat- urday, January 15, 2021 at 10 a. m. at Northside M. B. Church, and the funeral service will begin at 11 a. m. All CDC guidelines will be fol- lowed. MASKS ARE REQUIRED.
