No stranger to lawsuits, Tyga is currently being dragged into court by New Or- leans rapper Pretty Maw for allegedly using parts of her song “17th” for his recent sin- gle “Swap Meet” without pay- ing her, TMZ reports.
Maw states Tyga agreed to
pay her a fixed amount includ-
ing royalties but was never
paid. She says Tyga convinced
her to allow for him to use her
likeness in the video and she
even made an appearance at
the end, which currently sits at TYGA
over seven million views on YouTube.
Though Maw hasn’t named the similarities between “17th” and “Swap Meet,” she main- tains Tyga “heavily” sampled her work. Now, Pretty Maw is asking for the “Taste” rapper to pay up.

Chris Brown has officially returned to the United States after filing a defamation law- suit against the anonymous woman who claims he al- legedly raped her in his Paris hotel room suite. The singer arrived at the Van Nuys air- port on Jan. 26, under a week after he was released from his detainment.
We reported earlier how Chris is taking legal action against the woman who ac- cused him. Following his re- lease, Brown’s legal team has since pursued a civil and crim- inal case against her. Since

then, two lawyers have spoken to reporters about how if she
did lie, Chris’ legal footing could be strong. Darren T. Kavinoky, California crimi- nal defense attorney, TV host and legal expert, told us, “There’s a huge difference be- tween what happens in the court of public opinion, versus what happens in a court of law. And let’s remember that the court of law we are talking about is in Paris, where the rules are very different. Gener- ally, as much as the French jealously guard their privacy, their defamation law is re- garded as more defendant- friendly.”
ing, Nas keeps on winning. Since launching in 2014, his firm has made sizable invest- ments (and seen hefty ROI) with brands like Lyft, Drop- box, Coinbase, and even LANDR — an online platform for mastering music for in-
credibly reasonable rates. Most notably, home secu- rity start-up Ring and online pharmacy PillPack — both of which QVP invested millions into in 2014 — were purchased by Amazon for a $1 billion
each.
