Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s Luxury Cars Reportedly Destroyed In Trailer Fire
Lions' Jim Caldwell: 'There Is No Quarterback Controversy'
JIM CALDWELL
DETROIT -- Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford said he was told at halftime if he threw one more interception, he would be benched.
Stafford did, on the first drive of the second half, and he was replaced by backup Dan Orlovsky, part of a 42-17 Ari- zona Cardinals victory over the winless Lions. However, Lions coach Jim Caldwell said Stafford will remain the team's starting quarterback.
"Really, it's like a pitcher not having a very good day," Cald- well said. "The pitcher comes out, and the pitcher, obviously, he's still the starter. He's still our starter. There will be no is- sues there, so there is no quar- terback controversy or anything of that nature.
"But I know one thing. We've got to get better. This was poor, just not the kind of outing that we'd like to see around here."
Stafford completed 20 of 32 passes for 188 yards, a touchdown and three intercep- tions before being replaced. Orlovsky, playing his first game with the Lions since the winless 2008 season, com- pleted 21 of 38 passes for 191 yards, a touchdown and an in- terception.
Caldwell said the Lions "weren't getting anything done consistently on offense," so he was trying to "change the di- rection" at that point, even though the Lions were trailing 35-7 by the time Orlovsky en- tered the game.

Lawsuit Against Scottie Pippen Alleging 2013 Assault Dropped
LOS ANGELES -- A lawsuit has been dropped that alleged former Chicago Bulls star Scottie Pippen assaulted a man at a sushi restaurant in 2013.
Pippen's attorney, Mark Geragos, said Saturday that a countersuit Pippen filed against Camran Shafighi is also being dropped.
Geragos says he and Pip- pen are delighted the matter is over, and they had no inten- tion of settling the case.
A message left at a phone number listed for Shafighi was not immediately returned.
Shafighi filed a $4 million lawsuit against Pippen, ac- cusing him of a "brutal and un- justified physical attack" that allegedly occurred outside

Malibu's Nobu restaurant after Shafighi had sought a picture with the former NBA All-Star. Los Angeles County prosecu- tors said there was insufficient evidence to bring assault charges against the 47-year- old Pippen.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The sight of Jamaal Charles being taken off the Arrowhead Stadium field with a likely torn ACL in his right knee was made worse by what happened after he left Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears.
The Chiefs led the Bears 17- 3 with Charles in their lineup. They collapsed without him, losing 18-17 after the Bears scored two touchdowns in the final 3 minutes, 5 sec- onds.
The Chiefs appeared to have the life taken out of them as Charles left their lineup. He was injured without con- tact making a cut with Kansas City facing a first-and-goal from the Chicago 9.
"From there, production quit," quarterback Alex Smith said. "I don't know if that was it or what. Offen- sively, we went into a shell there for a little while, you

know, and just didn't get any- thing done. Had some decent field position, really had a chance to really put that game away with some first downs and just three and out, three and out. It didn't help the de- fense at all."
Coach Andy Reid said the preliminary report he received was that Charles had a torn ACL. He was scheduled for an MRI on Monday.
