PRESIDENT OBAMA AND MUHAMMAD ALI
President Obama will not attend the funeral of Muhammad Ali on Friday due to a scheduling conflict with his daughter Malia’s high school graduation, the White House said Tuesday.
Obama spokesman Jen Friedman said that senior adviser, Valerie Jarrett will attend the ceremony in Louisville, Ky., and read a let- ter from the President and First Lady Michelle Obama.
“The President and First Lady feel incredibly fortunate to have known Mr. Ali, and the outpouring of love since his death is a true testament to his remarkable life,” Fried- man said.
Approximately 10,000 tick- ets to Ali's service at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville were distributed Wednesday.
Buffalo Bills Sign QB Cardale Jones To Rookie Contract
CARDALE JONES
The Buffalo Bills have made it official with Cardale Jones.
The team on Tuesday signed the fourth-round quar- terback, the final member of Buffalo's seven-man rookie class to ink his deal.
Jones joins the Bills after recording an 11-0 mark at Ohio State, where the 6-foot-5, 253-pound passer guided the Buckeyes to victory in the 2014 National Championship. Jones, though, attempted just 270 passes at Ohio State and acknowledged he'll face chal- lenges adapting to the pros.
Bills coach Rex Ryan agreed, saying last month that Jones has a "long way to go." The Bills, though, haven't ex- actly anointed Taylor, drag- ging their heels on a potential new deal for last year's starter."I am going in here knowing that that Tyrod (Taylor) is our starter," Jones told the team's official website.

A Heart Transplant
Mixed martial arts star Kimbo Slice, who died Monday night at the age of 42, was diagnosed with heart failure and informed he needed a heart transplant, ac- cording to a report by the South Florida Sun Sentinel.
Citing a medical report made by the Northwest Med- ical Center in Margate, the Sun Sentinel reported that Slice, birth name Kevin Fer- guson, was admitted to the hospital on June 3, complain- ing of "severe abdominal pain, shortness of breath and nausea."
The report states Fergu- son was placed on a ventila- tor in intensive care and was scheduled to be transported to Cleveland, where he would be placed on a donors list. Trauma and foul play are not suspected in the fighter's death.
Mike Imber, Slice's longtime manager and child- hood friend, confirmed to ESPN.com that Slice entered the medical facility on June 3. According to Imber, Slice appeared to be doing well until Monday, when the situ-

around March and got really sick while he was there," Imber said. "I don't know what he thought it was, but he just felt sick. On Friday (June 3), he had bad chest pains and went to the hospital. I went and visited him on Fri- day and he seemed OK. I did- n't feel like I was going to lose my friend in two days, by any means. He seemed con- cerned, but he seemed all right.
"I talked to him that Satur- day and Sunday, and he was still in the hospital. I said, 'something's not right.' On Monday, his wife called and told me he had stopped breathing."
Muhammad Ali and his innermost circle started a doc- ument years ago that grew so thick they began calling it "The Book."
Its contents will soon be re- vealed.
In the pages, the boxing great planned in exacting detail how he wished to say goodbye to the world.
"The message that we'll be sending out is not our message — this was really designed by The Champ himself," said TimothyGianotti,anIslamic studies scholar who for years helped to plan the services. "The love and the reverence and the inclusivity that we're going to experience over the coming days is really a reflec-

The 74-year-old three-time heavyweight champion wanted the memorial service in an arena. He wanted multiple re- ligions to have a voice while honoring the traditions of his Muslim faith. And he wanted ordinary fans to attend, not just VIPs.
Sean Rooks Dies Hours After Knicks Meeting
Denver Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib has been released from the hospital after suffer- ing a gunshot wound to his right leg Sunday morning in Dallas. Investigators looking into the shooting are trying to determine whether Talib ac- cidentally shot himself.

Hours after interviewing for an assistant-coaching job with the New York Knicks on Tuesday, former NBA center Sean Rooks collapsed and died in a Philadelphia restau- rant.
Rooks, considered a warm and engaging gentleman within the basketball commu- nity, had been a player-devel- opment coach for the past two years with the Philadel- phia 76ers.
