WILSON
MR. JARED A. HARRELL
A Funeral Service for Mr. Jared A. Harrell, who passed away on December 16, 2021 in Tampa, Florida, will be held on Thursday December 30, 2021, at 2:00 p.m., at Wilson Funeral Home, 3000 N. 29th Street, Tampa, Florida, with Elder Gre- gory Jackson, Officiating. Inter- ment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Jared A. Harrell was born July 17, 1997, in Tampa, Florida, to the parentage of Gerald Harrell and Charmine Kelly Vickers. He was a permanent resident of Tampa and was known by every- one as JJ. Jared graduated from Bloomingdale High School in 2015.
Jared was the youngest of his mother’s children. (Her son- shine). He was so ready to come into this world, he was born at 34 weeks. JJ had a true love for music, writing, and truly express- ing himself creatively. One of his favorite artists was Tupac Shakur and he wrote several poems. He spent a lot of his free time jour- naling, meditating, and hanging out with his family and friends. He was very family-oriented, and
schools for over 35 years, where she touched the lives of many students. Her teaching experi- ences began in the mid 1960s at Booker T. Washington; Young Junior High School, where she directed the majorettes; 1970s Van Buren Junior High, also serving as head Track Coach and Basketball Coach winning con- secutive District Championships and named Coach of the Year; 1980s, and 90s Brandon High School; Young Middle School and retired from Benito Middle School, under the leadership of Dr. Lewis Brinson.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, John and Julia Wilson; her siblings, 5 sisters, Alberta Woods, Thomasena Mason, Maxine Wright, Louise Chaplin, and Madgree Addison; 5 brothers, Woodrow Wilson, TJ Wilson, Walter Wilson, James Wilson, and John Wilson, Jr.
Mrs. Kennedy leaves behind three children: Jacqueline Kennedy Haynes (Anthony), Franklin Kennedy and Travis Kennedy; 7 grandchildren, Arielle Haynes Burnette (Christopher), Anthony Haynes, II, Franquise Kennedy, Jaadon Kennedy, Tysen Kennedy, Ju- lianna Kennedy, and Arbundy Purnell; great grandchild, baby Burnette; godchildren, Belinda James Young, and Marcus Scott, Jr.; many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and a devoted church family.
She leaves behind her baby sister, Juliette Wilson with whom she shared her most pre- cious memories. There is noth- ing like a sister’s love, and Illa was always happiest when Juli- ette was around.
There will be a viewing on Sunday, January 2, 2022, at Wil- son Funeral Home, 3000 N. 29th Street, Tampa, Florida, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.

     all the kids loved being around him.
Jared was young at heart, but he had an old soul. He was very big on loyalty, and anyone that knows him can vouch for that. If he loved you it was unconditional and without judgment. Our hearts can rest because we know he is at peace.
Jared told most of us before he transitioned, “God’s plans are already written, it’s a divine pur- pose.”
His spirit will forever live on within is.
He was preceded in death by: great grandmothers, Jennie Scar- borough and Helen Mitchell.
Mr. Harrell is survived by: his children, Jalani (Jada), Jace (Joelle) and Jaide (Alesha) Har- rell; parents, Gerald Harrell and Charmine Kelly Vickers; grand- parents, Susiane Cookie Austin and Larry Vickers, Carolyn and Frank Lilly; siblings, Derecia Tim- mons, Geraalexus, Rakeem, Pre- cious, Gerald, Yazmin, Jayla and Germane Harrell and Germichael and Imani Harrell; nieces, Peyton Ershery, Braelyn Williams, De’maria and De’moni Chandler, Germani and Amora Harrell; nephews, Zion Washington and Armand Harrell; uncle, Larry Vickers (Teasha); aunts, Tavia Harrell-Smith (Mose), Vanita Austin, Larissa, Candice and MaKayla Vickers and Kisha Har- relson; best friend, Shannon Wig- gins; a host of cousins, friends and loved ones.

MR. JOHN C. JACOB
Mr. John C. Jacob, age 89, was born in Bluffton, Georgia, to the late Artester (Tess) and Leola (Mal- lard) Jacob. He left Georgia in the early 60s and moved to Florida, with his family and mother. As a young man he worked with his brother, Jerry Jacob, in the hotel business and later became the owner of two restaurants with his wife, Christine, and children, John Earl, Regina and Kenneth. They were known for good Southern Cooking, crisp biscuits and barbe- cue.
He later owned Jacob Land- scaping, where he worked with his sons, John Earl, Kenneth, and his brother, Ennis. Mr. Jacob later went on to a career with the Hills- borough County School System, from where he later retired.
On July 5, 1958, he married Christine Chitty and to this union three children were born, John, Regina and Kenneth. He confessed his faith in Christ at an early age and became a member of Union A.M.E. Church in Bluffton, Georgia. He loved to sing with his brothers and formed the Five Brothers Gospel in 1946, which was also comprised of some of his nephews and friends.
After coming to Tampa, he joined St. Luke A.M.E. Church, where he attended before his health began to fail. John was an avid hunter; fisherman and he loved spending time loving on his family, talking about the Lord, singing with his family and his brothers. This great love for singing and the Lord touched the hearts and lives of many and created a legacy of the Five Brothers Anniversary Celebra- tion and Reunion, which is held each year on the 1st Sunday in July.
Throughout the years many groups, managers and ministries were created from the Five Broth- ers to share songs, praises and the gospel of Jesus Christ. Mr. John C. Jacob went home to his Savior on December 18, 2021.
John C. Jacob was preceded in death by: seven brothers, Johnny B., Willie B., Mack Charles (M.C.), Rev. Jerry, Ennis, Rev. T. J. and Robert; two sisters, Mattie R. Grace and Azzie Lee Humphrey and a host of sisters and brothers-in-law.
Those left to cherish memories of him are: his devoted and loving wife of 62 years, Christine Jacob; children; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; a host of family and loving friends.
There will be a viewing on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Wilson Funeral Home from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m.

MRS. ILLA W. KENNEDY
A Homegoing Celebration will be held on Monday January 3, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at 34th Street Church of God, 3000 N. 34th, Street, Tampa, Florida, with Bishop Thomas Scott, Officiat- ing. Entombment will follow at Hillsboro Memorial Gardens, Brandon, Florida.
Mrs. Illa W. Kennedy passed away to be with the Lord early Christmas morning. Dedicated to sharing the gifts God gave her, Illa’s love for Christ was shown through her dedication to serv- ing God and sharing her gifts with the Church. Throughout her 50 plus years at both 22nd Street Church of God and 34th Street Church of God, she served in var- ious capacities as a Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Superintendent; Board of Chris- tian Education Director; Senior Choir Leader; the Church Build- ing Fund Committee, and more.
Illa was born to John and Julia Wilson on August 6, 1937, in Cartersville, South Carolina.
The tenth of twelve children, Illa grew up in Timmonsville, South Carolina, where she grad- uated from the first graduating class at Johnson High School and then matriculated to Bene- dict College, Columbia, South Carolina, where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
At Benedict, she met her sweetheart Frank Kennedy, whom she married and moved to Tampa, Florida.
