RAY WILLIAMS
MRS. ESSIE MAE HARRIS JOLLIFF
Mrs. Essie Mae Harris Jolliff of Tampa passed away Thurs- day, February 21, 2019. Funeral services will be conducted Sun- day, March 3, at 10 a. m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue with Pastor Dwight Brown, officiating. In- terment will follow in Orange Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Essie Mae Harris Jolliff was a native of Blakely, Georgia, born to Mr. and Mrs. John and Ioler Harris. She moved to Tampa, FL and later graduated from Howard W. Blake High School, Class of 1962. She mar- ried Irvin Jolliff, and worked at Tampa Health Care Center. Mrs. Essie loved to travel, dance, cook and the enjoyment of peo- ple. She lived a beautiful life, al- ways happy and smiling.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harris; sister, Doris Baldwin; brothers, Jessie Harris, Freddie Harris, and John Phillips Har- ris; and godmother, Mrs. Mag- gie Cusseaux.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her love ones: daugh- ter, Alexandrina Crayton; sister, Pearline Royal; nephews, Fred- die and wife, Janet Harris of Tampa, Jerry Harris, Irvin Pre- ston and Lamont Baldwin; god- daughter, Sandra Nellon; friend, Co-Jack and the Nellon family; grandchildren, DeAn- gelo Harris Royal, DeAndre Harris Royal, Domenic Norton, Andrianna West, and Alexus Todd; great-grandchild, Elijah Harris Royal; special friends, Wanda Johnson, Viceola John- son, Sharon (Mookie) Hernan- dez, Earl Hargrove, Earl McCray, and Arletha Williams; and a host of other family and friends from Mississippi, Blakely, GA, Tallahassee, FL, New Jersey, Tampa, FL, and the Harris family of Kansas.
The remains will repose on Saturday, March 2 from 5 to 7 p. m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue.

       DEACON GABE JENKINS
The Homegoing Celebration for Deacon Gabe Jenkins, 80 years old, who passed away at his residence on Tuesday night, Feb- ruary 19, 2019, will be held Sat- urday March 2nd, at 11 a. m. at First Baptist Church, Keystone at Citrus Park, 8202 Peterson Rd., Odessa, FL, with Reverend Matthew James, officiating.
Gabe Jenkins was a native of Charleston, South Carolina, and grew up in Hollywood, SC with his parents and family, where he worked, and attended school. He was born again at an early age and attended Baptist Hill Baptist Church.
Moving to Florida, Gabe resided in the Tampa Bay area approximately 60 years. During these years, he received many blessings. He joined First Baptist Church of Keystone, where he was ordained as a Deacon, mar- ried and became the father of two sons, worked as a truck driver for Dobbs International, catering food to the airlines at Tampa International Airport. Thirty-eight (38) years later, he retired. He married Lillie Nix- Madison, and they were lovingly together for 32 years, until death did them part.
Gabe was preceded in death by: his parents, Reverend Gabe and Daisy Jenkins; one son, Billy; one brother, Frank; and one sister, Johnnie Mae Ran- som.
He leaves to cherish his memory: a devoted wife, Lillie Jenkins; son, Gabe E. Jenkins; seven brothers, Willie Jenkins, USA, Louis Jenkins, SC, Leon Jenkins (wife) Geraldine, NY, Isaac Jenkins (wife) Kellie, NY, James Jenkins (wife) Dora, SC, Clifton Jenkins, PA and Billy Jenkins, FL; two sisters, Rebecca Porter, and Mary Jenkins, both of SC; brothers-in-law, George Nix (wife) Nathleen, and Deacon Johnny Livingston and family; a host of relatives, friends and spe- cial devoted friends. Deacon Gabe Jenkins is and will be sadly missed.
The viewing will be held Fri- day, March 1st from 5-8 p. m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue.

MRS. LAURICE PETERSON
Mrs. Laurice Peterson of Port Tampa, passed away Sun- day, February 17, 2019. Funeral Services will be conducted, Sat- urday, March 2nd, at 11 a. m. at Mt. Zion A. M. E. Church, 7401 S. Kissimmee St., Port Tampa, FL, with Reverend James T. Golden, officiating.
Mrs. Laurice Peterson was a native of Fort Valley, GA and res- ident of Tampa for 61 plus years. She was educated in Crawford County Schools in Georgia where she was a high school graduate. Mrs. Peterson was a dedicated member of Mt. Zion A. M. E. Church of Port Tampa, for many years. Laurice will truly be missed by her family and friends. She loved making peo- ple laugh.
She was preceded in death by: her loving and devoted hus- band of 64 years, Johnnie Lee Peterson, Jr.; her father and mother, Dolphus and Roschelle Sanders; 3 sisters, Dorothy Lee Jones (Roosevelt), Mary Etta Starks (Sam), and Christine Mc- Crary; nieces and nephew, Brenda Nichols, Dorothy “DD” Jones, Joann Starks, Sheila Starks and Darrin Sanders.
She leaves to cherish her memory a host of loving and de- voted family and friends: 2 sons, Maurice Peterson (JoAnn) and
MR. NATHANIEL P. SCOTT
Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Nathaniel P. “Nate” Scott of Tampa passed away Thursday, February 21, 2019. Funeral Services will be conducted Sat- urday, March 2nd, at 11 a. m. at First Baptist Church of Progress Village, 8722 Progress Blvd. with Dr. Sam Maxwell, Senior Teaching Pastor, offici- ating. Interment will be held Monday, March 4 at 11 a. m. at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
Mr. Nathaniel P. Scott was a native of Tampa, Florida, born to the parentage of the late Amos and Christine Scott, Sr. He was among 16 children born to this union. He attended the Public Schools of Hillsborough County and was a graduate of Blake Adult High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army to serve his country and was honorably dis- charged in 1962 as PVT (E-2).
Nathaniel was employed by International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) – retiring after 38 years. After retirement he worked a host of local secu- rity guard jobs with Andy Frain Security Services around the Tampa Bay community.
Nathaniel was a faithful Pi- oneer member of The First Baptist Church of Progress Vil- lage under the pastorate of the founding Pastor, Rev. B. T. Williams, to now current pas- tor, Dr. Sam Maxwell. He loved his church and was always faithful in attendance until his health would no longer permit. Nathaniel loved to travel, fish, cook crabs, and spend time with his great-grandkids, and godchildren on a daily routine until his health could not allow him to travel around town.
He leaves to cherish loving memories with: a loving, de- voted, and faithful wife, Aritha Mae Scott; one son, Cornelius (Pat) Scott; one granddaugh- ter, Meishawn Scott Carter; like a son, (Boo/Jaz’) Ronald Lewis; one grandson, Demetruis Hollis; 8 great grandchildren; two brothers, John Henry (Voncille), and Bernard (Anita); three sisters, Juanita Sails, Josephine Royal, and Cora Archie; 4 godchil- dren, all of Tampa; three sis- ters-in-laws, Rosa Mae Scott, Louise Gibson (Freddy), Stella May and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, friends, his church family and many others that called him “Goddaddy,” and “Mr. Scott.”
The remains will repose and the family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p. m. at First Baptist Church of Progress Vil- lage.
