and member of the Guiding Light Senior Ministry and the Florida State Association Church of God Men’s Ministry. Deacon Parks loved the Lord, his family, and his Pastor, Bishop Thomas Scott and the 34th Street Church of God, and he will be greatly missed.
Deacon Parks never met a stranger and enjoyed being a wit- ness for the Lord and cooking for the family cookouts that welcomed his delicious BBQ skills along with his special sauce.
Loved ones that preceded him in death were: his parents, Mr. John Henry Parks and Mrs. Allean Lowe; children, Reginald and Denise Parks, Christopher and Hosea King, and Yancey Pollock, Sr.; brothers, Nathaniel Baker, Eddie, Freddie and Calvin Lowe; nephews, Terryl Collins, Sr., and Nat Baker, Jr.; and nieces, Fredricka Jackson, Kathy Lowe and Rhonda Mond.
He leaves loving and precious memories to be cherished by: his beloved and devoted wife of (50) years, Jessie M. Parks; 3 sons, Gre- gory Parks, Michael King and An- thony Armwood; 4 daughters, Vickie Pollock, Janice Brewton, Beverly Mitchell (Greg) and Alisa Pollock; brothers, Robert Lowe (Barbara) and Melvin Monroe; sis- ters, Eloise Crump and Gloria Glenn; 20 grandchildren; nieces, Deborah Lowe, Tameka Monroe, Tamara Baker, Portia Lowe, Gail Harrison (Archie) LaVonne An- derson, Karen Hart (Leonard); special niece, LaTeasia Whitaker; nephews, Robert and Darryl Collins, Raheem Monroe and Kevin Center; godchildren, Marla and Mya Scott, Josiah and Jonah Johnson and other loving family and friends and the entire 34th Street Church of God Family.

     MOTHER JOAN KING
Mother Joan King of Tampa, Florida, transitioned to her Heav- enly home on November 6, 2021. The Celebration of Life will be held on November 13, 2021, 11 a. m. at Heaven Destiny, 4104 E. Elli- cott Street, Tampa, FL 33610, Pas- tor Tom Jones, with Pastor Gail Grace, officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Ave., Tampa, FL.
Mother Joan King was born on December 19, 1947 in Moultrie, GA, to the parentage of Samuel and Bertha Mae Bivins.
Mother King loved the Lord Jesus Christ, her children, and food/cooking. She drove school bus for Hillsborough County for 15 plus years. She devoted her life to her children and foster mother to many.
She was a skilled cook, en- joyed shopping and a shewed busi- ness woman.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Samuel and Bertha Mae Bivins; her husband, Thomas E. King; her sisters, Darlene Green, Patricia Tuff, Betty Floyd Johnson and her brother, Carl Bivins.
Mother King leaves to cherish memories of her with: children, Yvonne D. King, Ronald King, Kimberly King-McClain (Dwayne), Tameka King, Jamika King-Stallworth (Kenneth), Ka- tora King, Mary King, Torrin King and bonus son, Jerome Morris; sisters, Rose Austin and Mary Jean Davis; grandchildren, Dionte McClain, Briana McClain, Khalil McClain, Jawaun McClain, Aheim King, Caleb King, My Lord King, Brendan Johnson and Trent Stall- worth; four great grandchildren and an overwhelming number of relatives, friends and loved ones who will miss her dearly.

MR. MICHAEL L. BERRY
Funeral service for Mr. Michael L. Berry, who passed on October 14, 2021, will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at 2 p. m. at Greater New Salem Prim- itive Baptist Church, 1605 N. Ne- braska Avenue, Tampa, Florida, Dr. Benjamin Curry, Pastor, with Minister Antonio Gunn, officiat- ing/eulogist.
Michael (Big Mike) Berry was born on January 31, 1956, in Tampa, FL, to the parentage of (Ret. U. S. Army Major) Fred Berry, Sr. and Sarah D. Lowe Berry. Michael Berry attended the local schools in Hillsborough County. He was employed as a plumber at Roto-Rooter Plumbing Company for 10 years prior to be- coming self-employed.
Big Mike had an unselfish spirit and would help anybody at any time. He never met a stranger and he always had a smile. Mike loved the Lord, enjoyed going to church, cooking and going out to eat. He loved eating seafood with his devoted daughter, Delores Berry and grandchildren, Anaya Tyson and Alloysius Tyson.
He was preceded in his home- going by: both parents, Fred and Sarah Berry; grandparents, Ivy Lee Lowe, Freddie and Mary Rawls; great- grandparents, Char- lie and Sarah Thompson; brother, Fred Berry, Jr., and stepchildren, Mary Bush and Willie Bush.
Left to rejoice his homegoing are: 1 loving and devoted daugh- ter, Delores Berry; other daugh- ters, Karen Jordan, Crystal West and Destiny Charles; grandchil- dren, Anaya Tyson, Alloysius Tyson, Janari Gaynor, Antwannia Slater, Anutwanisha Slater, Anto- nio Slater, Paige Garvin, Payton Garvin, Parnell Garvin, Desiree Jordan, Que’Darius Williams, JaQuez Jordan, David Brown, Daveon Brown and Sha’leish Brown; brother, Mitchell Berry (Erica); sister, Cathleen Berry; a very devoted and loving cousin, Cynthia Berry; goddaughter, Shan Johnson-McRae; devoted friends including, Patricia Gilbert (his child’s mother), Frances Baker and family, Merrell Freeman, James Kelly Jr., Cynthia Williams, Kelly Doby, Lori Jordan, Danny, Alicia (neighbor); a host of other family and friends. It would cause enormous lament to Mike’s heart to miss naming any person how- ever, space is inadequate to name every family member and friend whose life he touched.

DEACON ALFRED PARKS
A Celebration of Life and Love for Deacon Alfred Parks of Tampa, Florida, who departed from this earthly life on Saturday, October 30, 2021, will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at 11 a. m. at the Thirty-Fourth Street Church of God, 3000 N. 34th Street, Tampa, FL 33605, with Bishop Thomas Scott, Senior Pastor, Eulogist and Rev. Dr. Michael A. Smith, Officiat- ing Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, Tampa, FL.
Deacon Alfred Parks was born March 15, 1936, in Tampa, Florida, to Mr. John Henry Parks and Mrs. Allean Lowe. He attended the pub- lic schools of Hillsborough County graduating from Middleton High School Class of 1954. He also at- tended and graduated from Warner University, Lake Wales, Florida. He was previously em- ployed at MacDill AFB Commissary and Lykes Brothers Meat Depart- ment. After retirement he could not sit still and returned to the workforce as a Senior in Service employee for local Elementary Schools in West Tampa assisting teachers as the Classroom Grand- parent.
Deacon Parks was a faithful, loyal and dedicated member of the 22nd Street Church of God, now the 34th Street Church of God for more than (50) fifty years. Some of his many other duties included serving as a Choir Member, Soloist, Custo- dian, Youth Group Leader, Sunday School Teacher, Prison Ministry
MR. LARRY BERNARD SLATER, SR.
A Homegoing Service for Mr. Larry Bernard Slater, Sr. will be held Thursday, November 11, 2021, at 12 noon at Wilson Funeral Home, 3000 N. 29th Street, Tampa, FL, with a local pastor officiating.
Larry Bernard Slater, Sr. was born on October 22, 1964 in Thomas County, GA to the parent- age of Georgia Slater and Larry Charles. The family later relocated to Tampa, FL. Larry attended pub- lic schools in Hillsborough County and was a graduate of Robinson High School.
On October 27, 2021, God called Brother Larry B. Slater, Sr. home to be with Him.
Mr. Slater was preceded in death by his parents, Georgia Slater and Larry Charles.
He leaves to cherish his fondest memories with: his only son, Larry Bernard Slater, Jr. (Gabby); grand- daughter, Estelle; his sister, Marry Ann Jones; aunts, Mary Davis, Deacon Barbara Diggs and Loretta Slater; uncle, Mitchell Slater; two nieces, Latrice Jones and Brena Canty; nephew, Anthony Brooks (Jacky); one great aunt, Lula M Lewis; three great nephews, An- thony, Kyhree and Xavier; one great niece, Elayjah; cousins, David, Vernon, Tony, Poochie, Kenobia, Terry Man and Irvin Pre- ston, Cithia Regina, Yolanda, Michelle, Jessica and a host of other relatives, close friends of the family, Jean Kelly, Melanie Starks, Rock Fuller, David and other friends too numerous to name.
