MRS. YVONNE GATES ‘VON’
A Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Yvonne Gates “Von” of Tampa, Florida, who passed away on Friday, August 2, 2019, will be held on Saturday, August 10th, 2 p. m. at St. John Cathe- dral, 3401 Bishop Newkirk Way, Pastor Dwight Newkirk, officiat- ing. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Yvonne was born on Febru- ary 28, 1958, in Memphis, Ten- nessee to the late Roosevelt Gates and Clemmie T. Basken. Yvonne enjoyed playing cards, coaching basketball, softball and special tutoring.
She was preceded in death by: her mother, Clemmie T. Gates; father, Roosevelt Gates; sister, Movita Gates and son, Terrell Dionne Shaw.
She leaves to cherish her fond and loving memories with: her children, Travis Carrington- Gates and Tamera Da’nai Shaw; brother, Ashton Gates; sisters, Selander G. Owens (Reginald) and Sharon Wells (Charles); aunt, Mary Alice Basken; uncle, Rev. Lester Basken (Irene); and a host of loving nieces, nephews, god-children, family and friends.
The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, August9thfrom5to7p.m.The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p. m.
The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.

MR. ROGER R. WRIGHT, JR.
A Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Roger R. Wright, Jr., of Tampa, Florida, who passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2019, will be held Saturday, August 10th, 11 a. m., at First Baptist Church of Col- lege Hill, 3838 N. 29th Street, Pas- tor S. Evan Burrows, with Rev. Christopher Jarnegan, officiating.
Roger R. Wright, Jr. was born November 5, 1954 in Tampa, Florida, to the late Roger, Sr. and Mattie Wright. He enjoyed helping people. He attended First Baptist Church of College Hill.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; sister, Yvonne Jones and brother, Paul Hawkins.
He leaves to cherish his pre- cious memories with: his daugh- ter, Shameka Wright; grandchildren, Tanesha Williams, Joquanda Benson, Natoria Williams, Brittany Hudson and Josiah Courtney; great-grand- child, Londynn Shephard; broth- ers, Sylvester Hawkins (Sara) of Jacksonville, Florida, Reginald Wright of Tampa, Ricky Wright (Vanessa), of Atlanta, Georgia; sis- ter, Debra Wright-Williams (Rudy), of Tampa; nieces, Chanel Bonner (Jason), Jantel Thomas (Victor), Sharrell Franklin, Cyn- thia Hawkins, Aaliyah Wright and Brianna Wright; nephews, Don- nell Franklin, Charles Thomas, Eric Hawkins (Arlene) and Darrell Dawson (Emma); friends, Diane Schleicher (Kurt), Tarrolyn Levy, Eugene Campbell and Tony Wil- son.

MR. WILLIE JAMES BELLAMY
Mr. Willie James Bellamy of Tampa, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2019. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Au- gust10,at11a.m.atSt.John Cathedral, 3401 E. 25th Avenue, Pastor Tony Parker, officiating, with Pastor Tom Jones, of Heaven Destiny Assembly of God, Eulogist. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Willie James Bellamy was a native of Asheville, FL and a resi- dent of Tampa for over 30 years. He was educated in the Jefferson County School System and was a member of Mt. Moriah Primitive Baptist Church. He entered the United States Marine Corps in 1965 to serve his country. He served until he was given an Hon- orable Discharge after the Viet- nam War.
After serving in the Marines, he began a career with the United States Postal Service in New York, NY. Years later he moved back to Tampa and began his em- ployment with James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital until his re- tirement in 2012.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Tolbert Moore and Lela Bellamy Moore; and his grandmother, Ethel B. Howard.
He leaves to cherish his mem- ory a devoted wife, Joyce D. Bel- lamy; daughters, LaTarcha (Xavier) Dunlap of Albany, GA, Temeka Dennison and Rochanda Dennison of Tampa, FL; grand- children, Ta’Shaunna Dunlap, Xavier Dunlap, Jr., Daisean Buie, Daiunna Buie, and Christian Dunlap; sisters, Evelyn (John) Cobb, of Ft. Pierce, FL, Cynthia (Anthony) Williams, and Ethel (Ken) Harris, of Apopka, FL; brothers, Tommie (Janet) Moore of Pembroke Pines, FL, and Fred (Montrece) Moore, of Clarksville, TN; aunts, Alberta Pyron, Eliza- beth (Nathaniel) McQuay, and Ernestine Bellamy of Tampa; un- cles, Frank Howard and Elmer (Leola) Bellamy of Greensville, FL; a helpful nephew, Elijah Ford; good neighbors, Mr. Dave (Gloria) and Mr. Ray (Sheryl); and a host of loving nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Olive AME Church, 1902 W. LaSalle St., with Reverend Gre- gory V. Gay, Sr., Pastor, officiat- ing. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Deaconess Hazel Wilder Hitchman was a native of Quincy, FL, born to Peter and Anna Wilder. She spent her formative years with her Grandmother, Molly O’Neal, in Georgia. Upon her return to Quincy, she received her education in the public schools of Gadsden County. She later mar- ried Walter Hitchman and to this union two daughters were born and a son who later died in in- fancy.
Deaconess Hitchman received Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Hebron AME Church in Quincy, FL. Upon coming to Tampa, she joined Mt. Olive AME Church with membership of over 70 years. In 1992 she became the second consecrated Deaconess of Mt. Olive AME Church and served in this capacity until her health de- clined.
She leaves to cherish her legacy: her devoted daughters, Linda H. Gilchrist (Jimmie), Doris Louise Hitchman, Lena Hitchman Jackson, and Dorothy Hitchman; grandchildren, Ramon Raiford, Creshawnia H. Griffin (Jonathan), Robert Gilchrist, Debbie Gilchrist, Richard Villard and Beverley Evans; great grandchildren, Michael Griffin, Mekai Griffin, Michayla Griffin, Jeremy Lucas, Demetrius Simpson, Johnny Wil- son, Johnika Campbell, Brandon Gilchrist, Tanisha Rock, Cliffreya Cadet, Clifton Haney, Shirley Jack- son, Carolyn Robinson, Evelyn Oliver (Jessie), Craig Milton (Rhonda), Phyllis Wilson (Dar- nell), Rodney Cooper (Sandra), Carolyn Banks (Johnny), Marsha Peoples, and Sean Peoples (Nic- hole); and a host of other great- great grands and great-great-great grandchildren; like a sister, her niece, Julia Simmons; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; one cousin, Annie Pearl Bryant; adopted children, Eddie J. Raiford, Margaret Brookins, LaV- erne Latson, Dr. Paulette Walker and Barbara Rutledge; adopted grandson, Tyrone Gray; the Chap- man and Lucas families; the Mt. Olive Church family and friends.
