Election Day Tuesday:
More Than 100,000 Vote During Early Voting Period
Relationship Enrichment Seminar
BY IRIS B. HOLTON Sentinel City Editor
Registered voters in Hills- borough County who have not voted will have a final oppor- tunity to do so on Tuesday, (today) August 30th. How- ever, instead of having the op- portunity to vote at the designated sites, the voters must cast their ballots at their assigned precincts.
Sunday, August 28th, was the busiest day with 3,779 bal- lots cast.
Craig Latimer, Hillsbor- ough County Supervisor of Elections released the unoffi- cial Early Voting Turnout dur- ing the 14-day voting period. According to his office, 27,667 registered voters visited the sixteen (16) locations desig- nated as Early Voting Sites.
However, 76,687 registered voters decided to use the Vote By Mail option to vote for the candidate of his or her choice. Individuals who have not
voted, but who have obtained Vote By Mail ballots can drop them at any of four Elections Offices on Monday and Tues- day. They may also have the option of voting on election Day.
According to information re- leased, 3,238 people cast bal- lots at the Jimmie B. Keel Library, with the Jan Kaminis Platt Library coming in second place with 3,202 votes.
The newly opened Keystone Community Center reported 560 people visited that loca- tion to cast their ballots in the election.
On Election Day voters will be required to provide one or two forms of identification. Acceptable identification in- cludes: a Florida Driver's Li- cense; Florida ID Card issued by the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles; U. S. Passport; Debit or Credit Card; Military ID; Student ID; Retirement Center ID; Neigh- borhood Association ID; or Public Assistance ID.
