  Safe & Sound Hillsborough Conference To Offer
 Day Of Activities

Freddy Barton, Execu- tive Director of Safe & Sound Hillsborough and his staff are making the final prepa- rations for the Second An- nual Violence Prevention Conference.
The theme for this year’s conference is, “Anything Is Possible.”
The Conference will be held on Saturday, May 19th, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., at Hillsborough High School, 5000 N. Central Avenue, Tampa, 33603.
It will feature workshops focusing on Mental Health, Bullying Prevention, Staying Out Of The Criminal Justice System, and Overcoming Barriers.
Additionally, several guest speakers will be on hand, there will be work- shops, a town hall forum held separately for youth and adults, community builder awards, a youth tal-

ent show, and a scholarship presentation.
The guest speakers slated to attend the Conference in- clude members of law en- forcement, motivational speakers, and other local and national personalities.
Officer Bobby White, Koran Bolden, Mayoral candidate Jane Castor, motivational speakers Tina Hollywood and Maxon Victor, Anjali “Queen B”
McGuire, and Sir Rod Patterson.
A free food truck and rally featuring a live DJ will be held as youth competitors prepare for the Youth Talent Showcase and Competition.
A special feature of the conference will include a Technology and Social Media Workshop. This workshop will feature the youth teaching adults tips and tricks to monitor social media platforms. The adults will learn about anonymous messaging apps that can po- tentially pose a threat if abused.

        Memorial Day Closing
The Library will be closed on Monday, May 28th in observance of Memorial Day.
