Ryahmal was born on Febru- ary 2, 1961, to the parentage of Robert and Joyce Griffin. He graduated from Tampa Bay Tech- nical High School of Tampa, Florida and would later join the Army, where he served until 1985.
Ryahmal was a devoted and loving son, father, grandfather and uncle who enjoyed recording and taking pictures of those he loved and cherished. Ryahmal de- voted his life to serving his God, Elohim, faithfully and keeping the Sabbath. He had such a pas- sion for sharing his studies of the world as well as his great wealth of knowledge with anyone seek- ing more understanding and who was willing to listen.
There is no doubt that Ryah- mal’s soul is at peace and resting with his creator.
Ryahmal was preceded in death by: father, Robert Griffin; brother, Eddie H. Griffin and sis- ter, Pat.
Ryahmal is survived by: mother, Joyce Griffin; son, Robert A. Griffin, Jr., (sp. Amber); daughter, Kyahmiah Elomein; son, Ryahiem Elomein; his loving dedicated caretaker, Shaquisha Smith (mother to Kyahmiah and Ryaheim); grand- mother, Robyn S. Griffin; grand- son, Robert A. Griffin, III; great grandson, Qairo Gonzalez; broth- ers, Kenneth Griffin (sp. Gloria Griffin), Christopher Griffin, Ansel Griffin and Eric Griffin; sis- ters, Gracie Griffin, Alvelinda Simmons, Phyllis Griffin, Valerie Powell (sp. Sean), Marshannna McGriff (sp. Shawn), Elena Rose (sp. Dave), Camille Griffin and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be a viewing on Thursday February 10, 2022 at Wilson Funeral Home from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m.

to crochet, knit, make jewelry, do all kind of puzzles, line dancing and especially enjoyed laughing and making other people laugh.
Mary married Robert C. Taylor in November 1976 and shared 24 years of marriage until he passed away in May 2000. On January 27, Mary answered her call to glory.
Also preceding her in death were: her parents, Sy and Carrie O’Neal; aunt, Maggie Coard; uncle, Leroy Nelson; sisters, Catherine Mungin and Alma Gardner; brother, Clarence O’Neal; nephews, James Howard, Deonta Ball and numerous other relatives.
She leaves to mourn her pass- ing: her son, Terence Cottman (Obran); granddaughter, Tiara Ross (Jon); great granddaughter, Taylor Ross; sister, Dorothy Ball; nieces, Paula Buck, Pamela Rudd (Ronald) TX, Cheryl Lovette (Harry), Belinda Williams, Sylvia Hollingshed, Linda Grant (Willie), Kathy Spann (Michael) of SC; nephews, Michael Ball (Jean), Tony Ball (Ramona) of MD, John Ball, Marc Cole, Clarence O’Neal, Jr., (Ingrid) of VA; cousins, Mary Ann Collins, Lakeland, FL, Marnita Coard and Sharon Kelley (Nathan) all of CO and Mable Sims of Dade City, FL. She also leaves a host of other sorrowing nieces and nephews in Tampa and Houston TX. Best friend for over 70 years Betty Fountain, the Hayes family, Retha Hobbs, the Taylor family in MD, LaToya Livingston and family; neighbors, Robert Shipp, Cather- ine Johnson and Charlie Johnson.

MRS. CARRIE MAE MCFADDEN
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one, the beautiful Carrie Mae Mc- Fadden. Our Carrie departed this life peacefully in Tampa, Florida, on Feb- ruary 2, 2022. We are grateful and humbled to have had Carrie with us for 101 years.
Her service was held at Wilson Funeral Home, 3000 N. 29th Street, Tampa Florida on Wednesday, Feb- ruary 9, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Inter- ment was made in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Carrie Mae was born on May 15, 1920, in Sumter, South Carolina. Carrie Mae McFadden was blessed to live a long life. Carrie Mae loved the Lord and was a longstanding mem- ber of Allen Temple African Methodist Episcopal Church. She proudly served on the Usher board and loved hosting luncheons with her friends from the Usher Board. Honoring God and always serving others, Carrie comforted families of her church by sharing the acknowl- edgements during Home Going Serv- ices.
Carrie Mae loved her family and friends. She celebrated love and cherished her relationship with Leslie’s father. She was grateful to be able to care for her brother, Pressley, until he passed away. Carrie com- mitted herself to a lifetime of service by caring for others. Carrie cared for and loved the families of TeAnn Bai- ley and Karidad Ramus-Hartman. Carrie had lifelong friendships, in- cluding her best friend Thelma Pe- terson, who passed away this April, and Thelma’s children Alice Maddix and Louise and Jerry Peterson. Car- rie had a heart for people and would fight for and speak up for the disen- franchised.
Carrie Mae loved elephants. She amassed a large collection of ele- phants and beautiful china. Carrie was very proud of the home she was able to purchase in Ybor City, Florida. After knee replacement sur- gery in 2006, she moved to the Ybor City Center for Rehabilitation and Healing and lived here for the past 15 years.
At Ybor, Carrie was a mighty presence. She often looked after the other residents and spoke up if she felt their care needed extra atten- tion. Carrie found great enjoyment in attending church services and par- ticipating in the themed activities at the center. She loved her visits from her cousin, Velda McGhee, and was overjoyed when Velda would bring her flowers and treats like her fa- vorite fried green tomatoes.
Mrs. McFadden was preceded in death by: her mother, Annie Mae Mc- Fadden; her brother, Pressley Mc- Fadden and her son, Leslie Antonio Valdez.
She leaves to cherish memories of her with cousins, Shirley Jackson, Mary Dicks, Evelyn Whitehead, Mary Jane Dicks, Velda McGhee, Michele Johnson and a host of other family and friends. MRS. THELMA SHAW SWEET
Mrs. Thelma Sweet, resident of Progress Village, departed this life, January 25th. A Celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, Febru- ary 12, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Progress Village, 8722 Progress Blvd. Tampa, Florida, Dr. Sam Maxwell, Senior Teaching Pastor with Pastor Rockey Vann, Officiating. Her remains will be repose at the church prior to the service from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Inter- ment will follow in Rest Haven Me- morial Park Cemetery.
“Sweet Thelma,”, as she was known by co-workers and friends, was known for her delicious cook- ing that she learned from her grandmother in her birthplace of Quincy, Florida. Thelma came to Tampa circa 1957, where she con- tinued her high school studies at Blake High School, Class of 1959.
Thelma was one of the first Black women at Honeywell, Inc. She spent most of her career as a Quality Inspector and Supervisor until she retired in 1994.
Thelma accepted Christ at a young age. When she moved to Progress Village in December 1961, she served dutifully at First Baptist of Progress Village until her death. She was active with the Dea- conesses, No. 1 Usher board, Youth Programs, and other activities in the church.
Thelma was also active in the community as a member of the Progress Village Civic Council. She was involved in Candy Stripers, the Order of Eastern Stars, The Orchid Club and Progress Village Garden- ing Club. She attended as many family functions as she could and traveled and cruised with no re- grets. Thelma Sweet lived a full life.
Thelma was preceded in death by: her loving husband, Herbert, of 56 years; her parents, and sister, Gertrude Scott.
She leaves to cherish loving memories with: her faithful daugh- ter and caregiver, Linda (Kenneth) Washington; honorable son, Ray- mond (New Orleans, LA); only granddaughter, Ashley R. McKen- zie (her twin); bonus children, Lindsey (Lynnette) Sweet of Quincy, FL and Juan Carol Cox of Tallahassee, FL; bonus grandchil- dren, Jocelyn and Alisa Washing- ton of Jeffersonville, IN, Khaliq Aziz Muhammad (Vanity), of Louisville, KY, Marcus Cox of Jack- sonville, FL, and Timothy Washing- ton of Tampa, FL; sister, Dorothy (James) Paul of Narcoossee, FL, brother-in-law, Willie Lee (Lucille) Sweet; sisters-in-law, Nancy (James) McLaurin of St. Pete FL, Mary Sweet of Tampa, FL and Elouise Sweet of Quincy FL; god- daughter, Clarissa Thornton and a host of bonus great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, honorary grand- children, and friends.

MRS. MARY LOUISE O’NEAL TAYLOR
A Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Mary Louise O’Neal Taylor who passed away on January 27, 2022 will be held on Saturday Feb- ruary 12, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 4008 E. Cayuga Street, Tampa, Florida with Rev. Michael White, officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue, Tampa, Florida.
Mrs. Mary Louise O’Neal -Tay- lor, was born on August 13, 1946, in Tampa to the late Sy and Carrie O’Neal. She had three sisters, Catherine Mungin, Alma Gardner and Dorothy Ball and brother, Clarence O’Neal.
She was a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, where she was baptized as a child and re- mained a member until her pass- ing under the leadership of Rev. Michael White.
Mary attended the public schools of Hillsborough County and graduated from Middleton Senior High School with the Class of 1964. Mary was employed by General Electric from 1971-1988, retired after 17 years and in 1989, she went to work for the University of South Florida College of Nurs- ing and Area Health Education Center.
Mary was a member of the Williams Park Senior Citizens “Sil-
ver Treasuries” group.
