Man Makes Online Threats To Shoot ‘Black Lives Matter’ Protestors
A Hillsborough County man has been arrested after he made online threats to shoot protestors.
On Saturday, the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff's Office received information from the Polk County Sheriff's Office that Alex Bancroft, 30, threatened to shoot “Black Lives Matter” protestors in a post he made on his Facebook account on July 24, 2020.
After others commented on the post, saying he wouldn't actually commit the act of vio- lence, Bancroft replied, "keep ur eyes on Fla news."
Further investigation re- vealed another violent post on Bancroft's account. This time, it was a photograph of playing cards from the game, "Cards Against Humanity." The prompt read, "That's right. I killed _____. How you ask? _____." Bancroft ordered the cards to read, "That's right. I killed African children. How you ask? An AR-15 assault rifle."
Bancroft reportedly ad- mitted to creating the posts on his Facebook account. He told deputies that he made the posts out of frustration, and wouldn't actually hurt anyone.
A warrant for Bancroft's arrest was obtained. Deputies attempted to serve it where he was staying in Dover, but Ban- croft had left to visit a friend in

Clermont. The Orange County Sheriff's Office and Polk County Sheriff's Office were made aware of the warrant. At approximately 11 p.m. July 25, 2020, Bancroft was arrested by the Orange County Sheriff's Office in Orlando.
Hillsborough County Sher- iff Chad Chronister said, “The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office takes all threats to injure or kill others very seriously, and this in- cludes threats made online on various social media plat- forms.”
Bancroft was arrested on a felony charge of written threat to kill or do bodily in- jury. He is currently booked at the Orange County Jail await- ing transfer back to Hillsbor- ough County.
Police Seek Witnesses In Fatal Early Morning Shooting
Detectives with the Hills- borough County Sheriff’s Of- fice are investigating a fatal shooting. The incident took place in the 14000 block of N. 30th Street, in Lutz.
According to police, deputies were dispatched to the residence around 3 a.m., Wednesday, in reference to someone being injured by gunfire. When they arrived, the deputies learned that the shooting occurred during a house party.
Deputies were unable to locate a victim when they ar- rived. Approximately 20 minutes later, they were no- tified that an adult male had arrived at the Advent Health Emergency Room suffering from a gunshot.
The victim was trans- ported to Tampa General
An early morning shooting that took place in LutzWednesday morning claimed the life of an unidentified man.
Hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries.

said, “We are still working to piece together the details about what led up to this shooting and we are asking witnesses to come forward to help provide those answers.
