Palm Harbor Man Jailed For Scheme To Defraud
Plant City Man Surrenders In Fatal Hit N’ Run
Detectives assigned to the Economic Crimes Unit have arrested a 76-year-old for one count of scheme to defraud. The suspect was the executive director for FEAST from 2002 until approximately June 2020. He is alleged to have embezzled more than $92,000 in donated funds from the organization.
Detectives were made aware of the theft after the new president of the organiza- tion learned of a bank account in the organization’s name. When Walter Anderson was questioned by the new president, he told them he used the bank account for his own personal use and “reim- bursed” himself for a loan he provided to the organization.
Detectives with the Pinel- las County Sheriff’s Office said FEAST is a non-profit busi- ness that serves the needy
families of north Pinel- las County with food staples and assistance in finding special services.
An 18-year-old Plant City man has turned himself in to the Polk County Sheriff’s Of- fice. He surrendered hours after he allegedly hit and killed a pedestrian in Mul- berry and then fled the scene.
According to the affi- davit, Brock Case, of South Willow Drive, in Plant City, was driving his 1995 Dodge truck westbound on S.R. 60 approximately 750 feet west of Espo Drive in Mulberry around 9:10 p.m. on Friday, July 16th.
Case is alleged to have struck a 48-year-old Tampa man who was walking in the roadway. Case initially pulled over, knowing he had hit something, but thinking it was a dog. There was signifi- cant damage to the front of
that the suspect vehicle was a possible 1994-1996 Dodge Ram 1500-3500 pickup truck.
As detectives were investi- gating, Case told several friends and family members about the incident, and ulti- mately decided to respond to the PCSO Southwest District onU.S.Hwy98Southin Lakeland around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 17th, to re- port the incident.
He was cooperative with detectives, and his truck has been impounded at the PCSO Crime Scene warehouse for further analysis.
Case was booked into the Polk County Jail and charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving death, a first degree felony.

Anderson was arrested and charged with one count of felony scheme to defraud (over $50,000) and was trans- ported to the Pinellas County Jail. The investigation contin- ues.

Man Arrested For Possession Of Gun
16 White Supremacists Indicted For Violent Crimes
Police have arrested a 21- year-old man and charged him with resisting arrest and pos- session of a firearm. He was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
According to the Winter Haven Police Department, on July 14, 2021 at approximately 10:08 a.m., two Winter Haven Police officers responded to the 251blockofLNEinanat- tempt to locate Karron McKinley on a warrant for Violation of Probation. When officers arrived, they found McKinley sitting in a shed with the door open.
The Officers announced their presence and as they ap- proached the shed, they could see a box that contained a loaded firearm magazine, two bags of marijuana and a scale. McKinley immediately stood up and attempted to grab an unknown object from inside of the shed. One officer grabbed McKinley and advised him to turn around and that he was being placed under arrest for the warrant. McKinley is al- leged to have begun to pull away in an attempt to get away from the officer.

McKinley as he continued to pull away. Each time he would free one hand, he reached to- wards his waistband attempt- ing to grab an object. Ultimately he was placed in handcuffs and a loaded Glock 48 with a round in the cham- ber and an extended magazine with 14 additional rounds was found in his waistband. The firearm was determined to be stolen out of Lakeland in Feb- ruary.
McKinley was taken to the Polk County Jail and charged with possession of a firearm by convicted felon), re- sisting officer with violence, carrying a concealed firearm, grand theft of firearm, posses- sion of cannabis over 20 grams, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Acting United States At- torney Karin Hoppmann announced the unsealing of an indictment charging 16 in- dividuals with violent crimes in aid of racketeering.
According to the indict- ment, the defendants were members of Unforgiven, a racketeering enterprise en- gaged in acts of murder, vio- lence, kidnapping, robbery, obstruction of justice, and other offenses. The indict- ment also alleges that Unfor- given used “corrupt law enforcement officers and state employees” to gather in- formation about people, in- vestigations, and prosecutions, and to smuggle contraband to incarcerated inmates. charges each of the 16 defen- dants with committing at least one violent act in aid of Unforgiven, including kid- nappings, conspiracies to commit assault, threats of vi- olence, and assaults with deadly weapons.
One charge accuses David Howell of assaulting protestors with a dangerous weapon at a Peace Walk for Black Lives held on June 5, 2020.
