The investigation into the
shooting is continuing.
The Florida Highway Pa- trol is currently investigating a road rage incident. It took place on Monday on the Howard Frankland Bridge.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, just after 9 p. m., the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a shoot- ing incident along the south- bound lanes of I-275 on the Howard Frankland Bridge. The victim, identified as Tye- son Jordan, had driven himself to the Bayfront Health St. Petersburg Emer- gency Road and was later transferred to the Trauma Center at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg, where he was met by Troopers and local law enforcement.
Jordan’s passenger in the vehicle, Ms. Jacqueline Slaughter, stated during the interview that Jordan was driving his 2016 Dodge Charger southbound on the Howard Frankland Bridge and while approaching a slower moving vehicle in the left lane he flashed his lights and activated his vehicle horn. Ms. Slaughter fur- ther stated that the vehicle in front of them was a dark col- ored SUV, with side window tint only.
Jordan began to pass the vehicle on the right and then merged back into the left lane in front of the sus- pect vehicle. Jordan then
“brake checked” the suspect vehicle before attempting to pull away, but the SUV began to follow the victim’s every move. The suspect vehicle changed lanes several times across the bridge, shadowing Jordan as he attempted to separate and create distance, she told police.
While still continuing southbound in the center lane of the bridge, Ms. Slaughter said she heard a “popping” noise and sud- denly felt glass strike her be- fore noticing that Jordan had been shot and had facial injuries.
Jordan continued to drive and told Ms. Slaugh- ter to photograph or record the suspect vehicle with her phone. However, she was not able to photograph the vehi- cle because the lock screen was covered in blood.
After the shooting, Ms. Slaughter said the suspect vehicle continued south- bound and finally separated as Ms. Slaughter helped Jordan remain calm. She guided him to an interstate exit and eventually the emer- gency room, where Jordan was treated and listed in sta- ble condition.
The Florida Highway Pa- trol is asking anyone with in- formation regarding this incident to call *FHP or Crime Stoppers at **TIPS.
Student Arrested For Bringing Gun, Ammo To School
Last Wednesday, police arrested a 14-year-old stu- dent and charged him after he brought a gun to his mid- dle school. Polk County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Anthony Archer, of Poin- ciana, who is an eighth grader at Lake Marion Creek Middle School. He was charged with possession of a firearm on school property, grand theft of a firearm, car- rying a concealed firearm, and unlawful possession of a firearm by a minor.
Police learned that he had the gun after a witness re- ported he heard that Archer was going to shoot up the school and shoot a teacher first.
After learning about the statements, a witness asked permission to go to the office during second period. When he entered the hallway, he saw the dean of the school, and told him. The dean sum- moned the School Resource Deputy via radio to the eighth-grade building.
The deputy removed Archer from his classroom and asked if he had a weapon on him. Archer told the deputy that he had a hand- gun tucked into his waist- band. The deputy removed a

Glock 9 mm from the front right side of Archer’s waist- band, and a magazine from his pocket that was loaded with one round. The gun was not loaded. The deputy placed Archer under arrest.
The witness told the deputy he also heard that Archer showed someone the gun on Monday, March 7th. The deputies inter- viewed that witness, and she confirmed that Archer lifted up his shirt and showed her a gun tucked into his waistband during fifth period after she refused to give him “dap” (a fist bump/high five). That wit- ness also told the deputy that on Tuesday, March 8th, Archer was playing with a bullet and told her that he was going to “shoot up the

school” and that “nobody will make it out alive.”
Deputies interviewed other students, who reported that during math class on Tuesday, March 8th, while Archer was being picked on he made a motion with his handasifhehadagun, and said, “Don’t come to school tomorrow,” then laughed.
During the investigation, deputies learned Archer ob- tained the gun from his par- ents’ locked bedroom while his parents were out of town – Archer’s grandfather was left in charge, and did not know that the parents owned a firearm or that it was in the locked bedroom. He allowed Archer in the room to use the shower in the master bathroom, at which time Archer took the gun.
