One 15-year-old has died and another 15-year-old is facing a manslaughter charge. The charge is linked to a shooting that took place on Friday, October 15th.
According to the Tampa Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 3600 block of N. 22nd Street, shortly before 1:30 a. m., in reference to a shooting. When the officers arrived, they located a 15-year-old fe- male victim with an apparent gunshot wound to the leg.
The victim told officers that her friend, 15-year-old Kyemontay Elijah Moore, shot her and fled the scene. There were several witnesses that identified Moore as the shooter and corroborated the victim’s statement.
The victim was trans- ported to a nearby hospital, where she was treated and later released.
Later that day, police is- sued a warrant for Moore, charging him with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon (firearm), im- proper exhibition of a dangerous weapon or

firearm, and being a minor in possession of a firearm.
Moore surrendered to police at approximately 6:00 p. m. that evening, at the Tampa Police District III Of- fice, 3808 N. 22nd Street.
The following day, Octo-
ber 16th, the victim was re-
turned to the hospital after
suffering complications. She
died on Monday, October
th 18.
Moore was already in custody at the JAC Center (JuvenileAssessmentCenter) as a result of the original charges. On Friday, October 22nd, the charge of manslaughter with a weapon was added.
The victim has been iden- tified on social media as Samaya.
Police arrested a 13-year- old and charged her with mak- ing threats to harm students and teachers. Students in- formed administrators of the threats last Wednesday.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to Hen- derson Hammock Charter School in Citrus Park after learning about the planned shooting.
Other students reported the plan to administrators, who contacted the Sheriff’s Office. Several students came forward stating Emily Roche, 13, was planning a school shooting and had cre- ated a map with locations of security cameras and a “hit list” of teachers and students she did not like.
Roche was located and taken into custody. She was charged with written threats to kill or conduct a mass shooting and was placed under a Baker Act.
Police said it did not ap- pear that Roche had any known access to a firearm, but would act on her plans if a firearm was obtained.
Hillsborough County
Sheriff Chad Chronister
said, “Lives were saved by the bravery of the students who came forward with informa- tion.
“The safety of our students is a priority. I am urging all parents to talk with their chil- dren about the importance of speaking up and reporting anything suspicious. As al- ways, if you see something, say something, it could save a life.”

Earlier this month, a Hills- borough County jury acquit- tedamanof2countsof murder. However, he was sentenced to 15 years in prison for violation of proba- tion.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to reports of shots being fired at approx- imately 1:30 a. m., on Sep- tember 12, 2017. When deputies arrived at the Chevron Station, 7710 Madi- son Avenue, in Palm River, they discovered two men be- side the gas pumps. Both men died as a results of gunshots.
The men were identified as 24-year-old Dremaine Vashaun Johnson and 23- year-old James J. Nicholas, both of Progress Village.
Detectives located a wit- ness to the shooting, who told police that Johnson and Nicholas were sitting inside a Nissan Altima with another man. The witness told police that after the men were shot, they were pushed out of the dark-colored Nissan and the driver fled the scene.
Later that night, around 8 p. m., an Orange County deputy came in contact with then 31-year-old Raynald Joseph Lamothe, of Riverview, at a 7-11, 4699 Rio Grande Avenue, Orlando, in reference to a trespassing in- vestigation.
Lamothe was driving a Nissan Altima at the time. The deputy observed what ap- peared to be a bullet hole in the car and what appeared to be blood on the front passen- ger seat.
The matched information about a double murder in Hillsborough County that oc- curred earlier that day.
