Despite Cancellation Rumors Disney Will Air Doc McStuffins For 5th Season
DOC MCSTUFFINS
Frank Ocean Is ‘Boycotting’ Grammys
FRANK OCEAN Frank Ocean has spilled
his guts on the last year in a rare interview with the New York Times. It’s not often that the singer speaks publicly, and that’s no accident. “Sometimes I’m fascinated with how famous my work could be while I’m not so famous,” Ocean says at the beginning of the conversation. It’s something he clearly thinks about a lot.
“I’ve gotten used to being Frank Ocean. A lot of people stopped me on the street when I hadn’t put music out in a while, literally would yell out of an Uber, “Frank, where the album?”
Despite winning two Gram- mys in 2013, Ocean has chosen to spurn the prestigious cere- mony this time around — and didn’t even submit his music for consideration.
“It just doesn’t seem to be representing very well for peo- ple who come from where I come from, and hold down what I hold down.”
“I think the infrastructure of the awarding system and the nomination system and screen- ing system is dated. I’d rather this be my Colin Kaepernick moment for the Grammys than sit there in the audience.”

Doc McStuffins fans can stop worrying about the fate of the popular Disney Junior Show.
Disney Junior has decided to have the doctor return to work! Even though the show has dealt with controversy in the past, nothing can compare to the controversy surround- ing its pending Season 5. Fans took to social media after won- dering why a fifth season of the show had not been an- nounced. Despite all attempts to make sure the Doc stayed on duty, it wasn't confirmed until last Tuesday.
The show has proven to be influential with its main char- acter being a young Black girl
who aspires to be a doctor. With very few children's shows on air that provide adequate representation of Black peo- ple, Doc McStuffins is our hope.
Disney Junior released a statement from executive vice president and general man- ager of Disney Junior World Wide, Nancy Kanter. "I can think of no other children’s tel- evision show in recent history that has touched as many lives and made the kind of impact around the world that Doc has," she said.
Fans will have to wait awhile before the new season airs. It's slated to premiere in 2018.
For years, Bryan-Michael Cox has helped create some of fans’ favorite R&B songs. Usher, Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige and Trey Songz are among the artists that have received production and songwriting help from him. But Bryan recently shared a song of his own on his Soundcloud page, and it does- n’t disappoint.
There are videos of Bryan in the studio where he can be seen making a beat and com- ing up with a melody, so a full
song from him isn’t a complete surprise. However, “Verbatim” is his first offering as a vocal- ist. The song was produced by Bryan and Sam Thomas.
On it, Bryan talks about a girl that moved on from him after he refrained from com- mitting to her. He seems to ac- cept his mistakes in some of his lyrics, but he ultimately re- grets driving her away.
Perhaps he is singing about his former 9-year relationship with video vixen Melissa Ford?

Mary J. Blige took a break from her “King and Queen of Hearts World Tour” with Maxwell for a special guest ap- pearance on Good Morning America (GMA) last Wednes- day morning (Nov. 16).
The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul delivered an emotional and show-stopping performance of her single “Thick of It” before sitting with host Robin Roberts to discuss her failed marriage of 12 years with Kendu Isaacs.
“My heart is OK. I’m hanging in there,” she told Roberts. “No one wants to go through this, and this is hard.”
Blige, 45, who filed for di- vorce from Isaacs in July, cit- ing irreconcilable differences, opened up about why she ended the marriage.
“The breaking point was when I kept asking over and over and over again for respect and to be respected. And it just seemed like I was beating a dead horse,” Blige told Roberts. “It seemed like I was talking to a wall. I just wasn’t getting it back so if I can’t get respect in the relationship, then I have to move on and save my- self. That was the point where I was like, ‘I’m done. I just can’t do it anymore.'”
Mary J. Blige talks about ‘re- spect’ on GMA.
Blige has managed to keep her faith, even with Isaacs ask- ing for nearly $130,000 per month in spousal support.
“What is getting me through is God, is prayer, is my family, people that love me, my fans,” she said.
Blige told Roberts that it’s important for any woman going through a divorce to keep con- trol of their finances.
“You have to handle your business,” she said. “You have to take responsibility and stay on top of it because things like this will happen if you don’t. You need people that will help you, but they can’t do every- thing for you. You have to be in the mix of it.”
Although rumors recently spread that Common was dat- ing actress Regina Hall, he may be back with his ex, Ser- ena Williams.
According to TMZ, an eye- witness spotted Common and Serena getting cozy before Serena spoke to an audience at the grand opening of the Yetunde Price Resource Center, that is a resource for those af- fected by violence.
Serena and Venus Williams launched the center because they lost their older sis-
ter to gun violence.
Also Common says he be-
came a better rapper after he became a vegetarian.
Common revealed to Peo- ple that growing up in Chicago caused him to once eat a lot of heavy foods like hamburgers, barbecue, and bacon, until he completely switched it up!
“As soon as I removed meat from my diet, I started to feel a clarity I didn’t have before. It sounds funny, but I feel like I was rapping better.”
