Deal With Live Nation
John Legend has launched a new initiative aimed at pro- viding prison inmates with business opportunities.
The “Ordinary People” singer announced plans for his Unlocked Futures investment fund at Town & Country mag- azine’s annual philanthropy summit in New York City last week. John explained how he had partnered with social in- novation charity New Fund and Bank of America to start the fund for ex-prisoners.
“We are doing this project, which is a social venture fund, with New Profit and Bank of America, and its purpose is in- vesting in business and non- profit ideas for people who have been incarcerated,” he told U. S. Senator Cory Booker, who interviewed him for the publication.

Everyone knows this.
He’s got numerous business ventures: a venture capital firm, a start-up incubator, Tidal, and Roc Nation.
So many, in fact, that it’s easy to forget that Jay Z, as well as being a businessman, is a musician.
Today, the entrepreneur and investor gave us 200 million reasons to remember that he’s also a rapper.
Variety reports that Jay Z has signed a $200 million dol- lar, 10-year touring deal with Live Nation.
Carter is already signed with the company, and they will continue to produce and promote all of his live concert events.

anyway), he has a robust tour schedule, and will be perform- ing several shows this fall.
Forbes announced last week that Jay Z is the second rich- est rapper, coming in just $10 million less than Diddy. This new deal will undoubtedly help to put him at the top of the list next year.

Rap star Nas continues to expand his business portfolio, thanks to a new partnership with Sony.
Nas has a new partnership with the corporate giant’s li- censing and merchandising creative agency, The Thread Shop.
Nas will work with The Thread Shop’s Vice President Francis T. Wong to create fashion forward, on trend col- lections for the Nas, as well as other strategic collaborations.
The work Thread Shop is doing now is incredible,” said Nas to WWD. “They are the experts when it comes to strategic artist collaborations and were the obvious choice when I was looking to work with a full service creative agency.
The Thread Shop will also work hand-in-hand with Nas to develop a revamped web store with new merch from the rapper.
