Popular Minister Dies Following Lengthy Illness

The family of the late Ms. Sylvia Loretta Holton would like to thank every- one who extended kind- ness during our period of bereavement. We appre- ciate the flowers, tele- phone calls, visits, and other acts of kindness. We are humbly and deeply appreciative.
We would like to ex- tend a special “thank you,” to Bishop Thomas Scott, of 34th Street Church of God, the Florida Sentinel Bulletin family, and Jeff Rhodes, and staff, of Ray Williams Funeral Home.

A popular retired minis- ter died Monday at his home surrounded by family mem- bers. Rev. Eddie A. Nunn, Sr., was 85-years-old.
A native of Belleview, Rev. Nunn was educated in Marion County. After gradu- ating from Howard Acad- emy, he enrolled at Florida A & M University, where he received his certification as a Barber.
Rev. Nunn relocated to Tampa and launched a ca- reer in the field that spanned more than 50 years. He was also em- ployed by the University of South Florida, where he worked in the field of refrig- eration before retiring.
In 1951, Rev. Nunn married Mrs. Geraldine Nunn, and to that union, 5
under the leadership of the late Pastor F. G. Hilton.
Rev. Nunn was chosen to serve as the Senior Pastor of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, in Zephyrhills. He served in that capacity for 32 years be- fore retiring. He returned t0 Tampa and became a mem- ber of True Life Community Worship in Tampa, under the leadership of Pastors Calvin and Angela Green.
His daughter, Mrs. Jan- ice Nunn Nelson said, her father enjoyed cooking and gardening. “He would cook the food and then give it away. He just loved cook- ing.”
In addition to his wife and children, Rev. Nunn is survived by several grand- children, great grandchil- dren, siblings, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be
held at 11 a.m., Saturday Oc- tober 7th at Bible-Based Fel- lowship Church, of Carrollwood, 4811 Ehrlich Road.
Harmon’s Funeral Home is in charge of handling arrangements.
