Woman Recovering From Gunshot Wound To Stomach
Domestic Quarrel Ends With One Shot, One Jailed
Masked Men Fire Shots At Two Drivers
The Tampa Police Depart- ment is currently searching for a man who shot a woman dur- ing a disturbance. The inci- dent took place Tuesday in front of 1808 E. 23rd Avenue.
According to police, the unidentified Black man fired several shots in the area and one of the bullets struck Ms. Marie Williams, 26, in the stomach. Additionally, an apartment at 1902 E. 23rd Av- enue, and the front left tire of a parked vehicle was also struck by the gunfire.
Police did not state who the man was arguing with or what the disturbance was about. They said several shell casings were found at the scene.
Ms. Williams was trans- ported to a local hospital, where she was listed in stable condition.

Detectives with the Hills- borough County Sheriff’s Of- fice are investigating two incidents involving drivers being attacked. Detectives be- lieve the cases may be related.
According to police, around 9:45 p.m., on Tuesday, a woman contacted police about an attempted carjacking on Oakwood Drive, in Thono- tosassa. When deputies ar- rived, the woman said an unidentified person wearing a tan, short-sleeved tee-shirt and wearing a rubber Hal- loween mask approached her.
The suspect demanded her car keys, but she refused and she kicked the suspect. The suspect then fired a single round into the victim’s car- port. She was not injured and the suspect fled the scene on a moped.
About 45 minutes later, deputies responded to a shooting that took place at the intersection of Pemberton Creek Drive and Muck Pond
Road, in Thonotosassa. The man had been shot once in his back. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was treated for non-life threaten- ing injuries.
During the investigation, detectives learned that an unidentified suspect wearing a gray tee-shirt, black gym shorts, and an orange mask approached the man while he was inside his vehicle. The suspect fired 3 or 4 rounds to- ward the victim’s car, striking him once. The suspect then fled the scene on foot.
Detectives believe that both of the incidents are connected and are following leads. The victims are not being identi- fied and the investigation re- mains active.

PHELAN BROWN
The St. Petersburg Police Department arrested a man and charged him with at- tempted murder and aggra- vated assault. The incident took place after a domestic argu- ment led to gunfire.
According to police, Ms. Chaunice White, 24, Gregg Johnson, 25, and Phelan Brown, 25, were in the park- ing lot of the YMCA, 3200 1st Avenue, South, around 6 p.m., Tuesday.
An argument erupted be- tween the threesome. Brown and Ms. White had previously had a relationship, police said.
At some point, Brown is al- leged to have fired a shot at the car Ms. White was seated in. The bullet missed her. How- ever, Brown is alleged to have fired another shot at Johnson and the bullet grazed him.
When police arrived, Brown and Johnson were struggling. Brown was taken into custody and Johnson was treated for a non-life threaten- ing injury.
Man Selling iPhones Robbed At Gunpoint
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is currently searching for a Black man in connection with a robbery. The incident took place Mon- day night.
According to police, the vic- tim was at Murphy’s Gas Sta- tion, 9023 Gibsonton Drive, around 10:15 p.m., when he met the man. The victim was reportedly there to sell the man two iPhones 8+s that he had listed for sale on the Of- ferUp application.
During the transaction, the suspect produced a handgun and pointed it at the victim.
He then took both iphones and the victim’s phone and fled the scene in a Nissan Al- tima, dark in color. The car is believed to be a 2013 or 2014.
The man is described as being about 6’1” and weighs about 170 pounds. He had short, shaven hair and was last seen wearing a white shirt and blue jeans.

Woman Charged With Aggravated Child Abuse
A 21-year-old Seffner woman has been arrested and charged with aggravated child abuse and child neglect. The victim is a 19-month-old fe- male.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, at around 11 p.m., Monday, Ms. Rivera-Cruz brought the child to Brandon Regional Hospital because the child’s left leg was swollen.
During the examination of the child, hospital medical personnel and medical per- sonnel from the Child Protec- tion Team located and confirmed several injuries to the child. It was determined that the child had been phys- ically abused consistently for at least two months. This con- clusion was based on various stages of healing and acute in- juries, police said.
Detectives said Ms. Rivera-Cruz, who had the child in her care, failed to pro- vide any medical attention to the victim that “any prudent person would consider essen-

tial to the child’s well-being.” The child was transferred to All Children’s Hospital, in St. Petersburg because of the numerous injuries. Ms. Rivera-Cruz was arrested on October 4th and trans- ported to the Hillsborough County Jail. She was charged with 4 counts of aggravated child abuse and 1 count of child neglect with great bod- ily harm. She is being held
without bond.
