MRS. DOROTHY PITTMAN KNIGHTON
Mrs. Dorothy Pittman Knighton of Tampa, Florida, de- parted this life on Saturday, July 25, 2020.
Her Homegoing Service will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at 11 a. m. at Mount Tabor Missionary Baptist Church, 2606 W. Grace Street, Pastor T. D. Leonard, officiating. Inter- ment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Please follow the CDC guidelines. Masks are required.
Mrs. Dorothy Pittman Knighton was a native of Shell- man, Georgia, and a resident of Tampa for many years. She was a member of Mount Tabor Mis- sionary Baptist Church and re- tired as a Domestic Engineer for private homes.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Willie D. Pittman and Rosalee Jackson Pittman.
She leaves to cherish her memory: a devoted sister, Mil- dred Johnson (Louis); brother, John Pittman, Sr. (Deborah) of Tampa, FL; five grandchildren, Shamika Knighton, Torrence Knighton (Lameka), Willie Knighton, Jr., LaShawndra Knighton, all of Tampa, FL and Alex J. Knighton, IV of Pompano Beach, FL; 18 great grandchil- dren; 2 great-great grandchil- dren; two daughters-in-law, Bertha Knighton of Tampa, FL and Yazetta Jones-Knighton of Pompano Beach, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, her Mt. Tabor Church family and friends.
The visitation will be held Friday, August 7, 3 – 7 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue. We are asking family and friends to fol- low the CDC guidelines. Masks are required.

A Private Service will be held for Missionary Bernice G. Brown, who departed this life on Thurs- day, July 30, 2020. She will be missed by many family members and friends.

Ms. Bernice H. Smith was a native and lifelong resident of Tampa, Florida. She was edu- cated in the public schools of Hillsborough County and was a graduate of Don Thompson High School, later renamed Howard W. Blake High School. She retired as a Customer Relations Agent for GTE/Verizon after many years of dedicated service. Ms. Smith ac- cepted Christ at an early age and was a member of the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Julius Howard and Alcoria Reddick Mobley; children, Katriana Yvette Brown and Alonzo Howard; siblings, Doris H. Singleton, Julius E. Howard, Joseph L. Howard, and Israel L. Howard; and grandchildren, Shawnte T. Beckham and Eugenia Brown.

Mrs. Maritha S. Swepson, af- fectionately known as “Martha Ann,” was a native and lifelong resident of Tampa, Florida, born to Augustus Symonette and Daisy Henderson. She was educated by the public schools of Hillsborough County and was a graduate of Howard W. Blake High School. Maritha retired from GTE, after 25 years of dedicated service and she was the proud owner of Love Your Child Daycare, Tampa, FL. She was a member of Great Com- mission Church and she was the loving wife of Elder Walter Swep-
son.She was preceded in death by: her parents, Augustus Symonette and Daisy Henderson; siblings, Augustus Laurance Symonette, Alvin Symonette, Micheal Symon- ette, Emily Henderson, and De- lores E. Smith.

Mrs. Joanne B. Whetstone was a native of Dade City, Florida, born to Lula and Willie Baldwin. She re- ceived her education in the public schools of Hillsborough County and was a faithful and loyal mem- ber of Full Gospel C. O. G. I. C., Elder Tommy Jones, Pastor.
Mrs. Joanne B. Whetstone was a devoted and caring wife to her husband, Terry Whetstone, for 27 years.
She leaves to cherish her mem- ory: her husband, Terry Whet- stone; four sisters, Darlene Rooks (Soloman), Francis Baldwin, Cyn- thia Hudgins (Richard), and Diedrea Willis (Ashley); two broth- ers, Willie S.
