ELDER DR. THOMAS JEFFERSON REED
A Private Homegoing Celebra- tion will be held for Elder Dr. Thomas Jefferson Reed.
When the late Professor William Reed, Sr., and the late Mrs. Beatrice Reed Toole had a rare glimpse in the dynamics of this world’s mass hysteria, they per- ceived the Lord had assigned them the mission to carefully construct and cultivate, and painstakingly nurture and protect a child of noble pedigree. On September 18, 1935, Thomas Jefferson Reed, a valiant nobleman, was born. The creation of God’s splendor and majesty was perfected in Toomsuba, Mississippi.
He answered a service call in the United States Air Force and bore the weight of defending free- dom from 1958-1970. His illustri- ous military career garnered a repertoire of knowledge which was realistic, sacrificial, multicultural, and absolute. He was a Public Class- room Instructor for 28 years and retired on January 31, 2000.
Elder Dr. Reed’s transition on July 24, 2020, brought him eternal joy and fellowship with God.
Elder Dr. Reed had several loved ones who have already crossed celestial portals and greeted him with shouts of jubila- tion: Will and Clemmie Reed (grandparents); Professor William B. Reed and Mrs. Beatrice Reed Toole (parents); and William B. Reed, Jr., and Henry Reed (broth- ers).
Etchings of his intriguing inter- changes are eternally imprinted on the table of the hearts of Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Hannah Reed, the wife of his youth and love of life for 59 years; Elder Dr. Marilyn Reed Loblack and Minister Dr. John Loblack, devoted daughter and son- in-law; Alesia Gill, granddaughter; Aaliyah Sims, great granddaughter; and Nasir Byrd, great grandson.
His siblings, their spouses and sisters-in-law also share their lov- ing lament: Dr. Walter Reed (Martha), Melvin Reed, Nathaniel Reed (Bertha), Mosel Reed (Yvonne Wright), Gladys Reed Harrison (William), Geraldine Reed Sham- burger, Earlene Reed Thompson, Lorene Reed Portis (Leroy), Cather- ine Reed, and Geneva Burton (Win- ston).
