Tampa Man Charged With House Party Murder In Lutz
Brothers Jailed In Home Invasion, Robbery Shooting
    A 29-year-old man has been arrested and is facing murder charges. The fatal shooting took place last week during a house party.
Detectives with the Hills- borough County Sheriff’s Of- fice have arrested Brandon Jerell Howard, of Tampa. He was identified as the sus- pect linked to a deadly shooting at a house party. The shooting took place around 3 a.m. on July 29. An adult male was shot at a home on the 14000 block of

N. 30th Street in Lutz. He was transported to a local hospital and later pro- nounced deceased.
Howard was arrested shortly after 3 a.m. on Thursday, July 30. He is fac- ing felony charges of second degree murder with a firearm and felon in posses- sion of a firearm. The motive for the shooting is unclear at this time.
Howard is currently being held at the Orient Road Jail.

Two young men were ar- rested early Tuesday in con- nection with a home invasion and robbery. The incident took place in the 3600 block of N. 15th Street.
According to police, the two men forcibly entered the home around 12:45 a.m. Once inside, they shot a 34- year-old man inside of the home. The men then fled the scene in a 2012 silver Chrysler 300.
The vehicle was observed a short distance away and stopped behind a business lo- cated at 2001 N. 36th Street. The driver of the vehicle stopped and both occupants

fled the scene on foot. They were apprehended after a short foot pursuit.
Both were taken into cus- tody. They were identified as 18-year-old Cain Lewis and 19-year-old Duane Lewis. The brothers were trans- ported to the Hillsborough County Jail and were charged with armed robbery, home invasion, resisting arrest without violence, and posses- sion of a controlled sub- stance.
The victim was trans- ported to a local hospital in serious condition. His in- juries were not life-threaten- ing, police said.
   Gunshot Victim Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries
 A Tampa man was in- jured by gunfire that has left him with life-threatening in- juries. The shooting took place in the Brandon area Sunday night.

ered an adult man was suf- fering from gunshot wounds to his upper body.
The unidentified victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threaten- ing injuries.
A spokesman for the Hillsborough County Sher- iff’s Office said shortly after the shooting, three Black men were observed fleeing the scene. Police believe the shooting may be drug-re- lated.
No arrests have taken place and no additional in- formation has been released.
Man Faces Murder Charge In Death Of Child
     A 23-year-old man has been arrested and is a facing first-degree murder charge in connection with the death of a child.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were notified of an unresponsive child on July 19th. Deputies arrived at the residence in Riverview after receiving the 9-1-1 call at 9:15 a.m.
Upon arrival they discov- ered the child was unrespon- sive and suffering from lacerations and bruising on the body. At the time, the child was in the care of David Vasquez Malave.
The child was transported to Tampa General Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The following day, on July 20, the child was pronounced dead. The Medical Exam- iner’s Office declared the

manner of death as a murder. In addition to the first-de- gree murder charge, Vasquez Malave was also charged with aggravated child abuse and murder in the first- degree while engaged in ag- gravated child abuse. He is being held at the Hillsbor- ough County Jail without
bond.
Police did not release any
additional information on the child.
