4K Brisk Walk For Life To Promote Health, Prevention And Safety Awareness
Darla and Elliott Saun- ders have been diligently work- ing throughout the Tampa Bay area to educate and bring aware- ness to unsolved homicides since 2006.
The Saunders and Brooks family experienced the tragic loss of their son and family member, Isaiah Edward Brooks, in 2005. The Saun- ders’ are the founders of Advo- cates for Safer Communities, Inc. The organization is a not- for-profit 501 c (3) which serves youth and families throughout the Tampa Bay area.
On Saturday, November 5, 2016, Advocates for Safer Com- munities invites all to join them for their 4K Brisk Walk for Life: Health, Prevention and Safety Awareness event which will be held at Ferrell Girls Preparatory Academy located at 4302 N. 24th Street in Tampa, Florida 33610.
Registration for the 4K Brisk Walk will begin at 7:30 a.m. and the walk will start at 8:00 a.m. The commu-nity/vendor fair (free to the public) will open at 9:30 a.m. directly after the walk portion is completed. En-

tertainment will be provided by Andre Walker and his band, the Mighty Good and Strong.
This event is geared to serve and support the youth and fami- lies in the Tampa Bay area. The focal points of this day will in- clude: a brisk walk, educational components, resources, family fun activities, gift prizes, raffles, refreshments, entertainment, lit- erature and other information to assist and encourage healthier lifestyles, decrease crime, build relationships and assist families in creating a safer community for children to thrive.
There will be various organi- zations (not-for-profit, faith- based, governmental and other agencies, etc.) on site with valu- able resources; such as, the Tampa Police Department, City of Tampa Fire Department, the MG&S Band, Molina Healthcare, Hillsborough County Public Schools Full Service Centers, Project LINK, Success 4 Kids, Positive Spin, GEMS, Metro Wellness, DAACO, the United States Army and more.
