THE PURSUIT OF
BOLD INITIATIVES
We’re moving from being an allocator of capital to external managers to
an active, in-house asset manager. This transformation involves many bold
initiatives: creating QuadReal, setting up a derivatives program, introducing a
new investment management platform (IMP), and establishing an integrated
culture of investment risk management to name a few. These initiatives are all
designed to enable and unlock BCI’s investment potential, and increase the
probability of meeting our clients’ actuarial rate of return. These are multi-year,
large scale initiatives that won’t happen overnight. Each one consists of a
number of projects that make it happen, and milestones to meet along the
way. Big journeys begin with small steps.
