of the largest institutional investors in the country, the 35th largest pension fund
manager in the world, 17th largest global infrastructure investor, and 26th in
global real estate — according to a study by the Boston Consulting Group.
The work we do helps finance the retirement benefits of more than 554,000
plan members, as well as the insurance and benefits that cover over 2.3 million
workers in our province.

We have a presence within the industry. Our purchasing power is strong,
and this allows us to target larger investments, take bigger equity positions,
and negotiate better terms and rates with business partners. It also provides
our partners with transaction certainty, as they know we can move swiftly in
bidding and closing.

Along with our scale providing better investment opportunities, it also helps us
attract the highly-specialized skills that are essential to our transformation. As
we’ll discuss later on, the recruitment and retention of skilled individuals is one
